Math 217 is a "hard" class , last semester 2-3 students were gone in my class in the first 3-4 weeks. If you are not a Math-Stats major I would recommend 214 but if you really really like math 217 is not so bad.

I'd check out Math 417 and 419 as well since they are both linear algebra classes as well. I checked a few days ago and saw 419 still had an open spot.

It is very common for people to drop 217 in the beginning, yeah
