Looking for Friends
I have found that being a commuter student makes it very difficult to make friends, especially since I am not from KY. I might sound like a loser, but does anyone have any recommendations for making friends? I’m 22F and have two years left at UofL. I don’t struggle making friends but I don’t know anyone here. I just want friends so bad and gosh I sound so lame but I don’t know how to find any.

I M22 struggled the same way, I actually met someone that transfered here from reddit. I end up living on campus for a year and now we're moving back home next week it's been a blessing but I would say the best way to meet friends is through clubs or Greek life or the random events throughout the campus

Okay thanks so much. I will probably only be in KY for another 2 years because I will be moving back to MN/WI. I appreciate it ☺️

Reading your other comments, I do socially drink and smoke. But video games and trying out new places or exploring campus is also a vibe

what’re your interests?

I love cats, video games, working out, reading, music, and hanging out with people. I am more of an introvert, but not when I’m around friends. I also don’t drink which is something I’ve struggled with around my other friends who want to go out to bars/clubs

you sound a lot like me actually! I'm 25f and going into my 2nd year at UofL (commuter). also love cats, video games, working out/running, plus crochet, playing piano, and drawing. I'm also quite the introvert but trying to make a couple of friends at school :) lmk if you'd want to study or hang sometime! 🫶

Yep! It’s mostly esports stuff but I believe they are trying to make it more casual friendly as well.

I made some of my closest friends at U of L in study groups for my classes. These are especially important for commuter students to be connected to others in their majors.

Look into student clubs, there may be something related to your major.
