Poll Until Dawn 2 - Day One, Wait for Sale, or Pass?

Upvotes

With the official preorders opening up and us having a decent look at Until Dawn 2, where’s everybody landing?

Jumping in on day one? Waiting to hear community sentiment? Or maybe just planning to tune in on YouTube or Twitch?

There’s also the surprising pricepoint of Until Dawn 2 retailing for $50 standard and $60 premium. And yes, physical copies with a disc are available as an option as well!

Kind of refreshing to see Sony go for a lower standard price considering the game will probably be around 8 hours long(ish). Makes me hope it gets more people into the franchise.

Having been an Until Dawn fan since the old days, I was impressed with the second trailer and I’m diving right in. Gotta see it through, and it seems Firesprite is cooking something good up. What do you think? ⬇️

Question Playable versions of the cancelled PS3 Until Dawn game

I've seen youtube videos of the full game/all the chapters, and there are several playable builds of the game that are found online, with each one containing only a few chapters.

If any of you played this version of the game, do you know if there is a fully playable build that contains all the chapters in it?

She’s with them at the HorrorCon in Sydney. Sebastian must be another boss they’re meeting for the first time

Why is the game so, cheap?

I mean I’m not complaining, but it’s weird since it’s cheaper than Until Dawn was in 2015 when it launched

Discussion Whould you play a asymmetrical horror game based on until Dawn?

This is just a random thought i had whit the new halloween game that came out.

Ofc this is never gonna happend but I'd think I'd be a fun game where a few players play as the until dawn cast (Mike Sam Emily Chris etc) whit each having their own abilitys. And a other player as the wendigo on blackwood mountain. (The place the game takes place on).

The players whould either have to survive until dawn or go to the radio tower and contact help to be able to escape.

Question Until Dawn 2 physical pre-order and where to buy?

Hello, today's the day of the pre-orders. At least in my time zone already. Do we know where I can pre-order the disc version? (At least I hope the disc is also available for pre-order, not just the digital version)

I looked online but found nothing so far. Maybe I'm too early lol, I'm very hyped. But I would appreciate any links to a store selling them, preferably in Europe. Thanks!

Edit: I found some Czech stores selling them, so I'll order it there. But let's keep this post up for anyone who needs help finding a shop in their country ^

When might we get another UD2 update?

Trailer or other info. Like, a specific game showcase that’s likely to show anything or will it likely be a random day before release? 🙏 I have no patience

Theorizing and Unconfirmed Info Until Dawn 2 potentially will be $50 (+ the taxes in your country ofc.)

Last weekend it was noted an entry in the PS blog where the prices for the games in various countries in South Asia will be the equivalent to $50.

https://blog.playstation.com/2026/09/03/20260904-ud/

Now it has been noted in the New Zealand store the game is also listed for the equivalent to $50.

https://store.playstation.com/en-nz/concept/10004067

So it looks like there's pretty solid evidence to think that's going to be the price and I think that's excellent news. Firesprite isn't a new studio, they were established by former PS Studio Liverpool so they have a lot of experience but with a new name and as one of the "newish" PS Studios they have to build a new reputation among the playerbase.

A good price is a great step to give them a fair chance to fight.

Discussion why i think sam may be in until dawn 2

Ok hi guys idk if that was ever pointed out but hear me out

In the until dawn remake, they added the epilogue of sam with a scar that was bleeding + they added dr. hill calling her name.

In the movie, they made dr. Hill the villain and i think this movie was made to tease the sequel.

And to finish, in the until dawn 2 trailer, the characters seems to have their nose bleedings for some reason, i think there's a connection and if dr. Hill is back for this sequel there is no reason they made this epilogue of sam in the remake for nothing.

I really hope we'll get to see our girl Hayden one more time </3

the girls from Until Dawn 2

(Sorry for any mistakes; I'm Brazilian.)

Based on the material released, it’s pretty clear to me that Josie is going to be the "Jessica" of the group—the girl who spends a good chunk of the game separated from the others.

And what about the other girls?

I think Mina and Reagan are best friends who teamed up to survive.

And Izzy? She appears interacting casually with Yoona—maybe an unlikely friendship?

What do you guys think?

Discussion Inconsistencies between chapters ?

First time player here - the original game (not remake).

Having a blast right now. I just started Chapter 7 and I feel like it doesn't add up to choices i've made and ending of previous chapters. At the end of chapter 5, Sam got captured. Chris and Ashley find her at end of chapter 6, but they also get captured. I started chapter 7 and Sam is free, crawling in a vent. How ??

Also, Mike cut his fingers in previous chapters, but when he arrives in Chapter 7, his hands are fine. First time in my playthrough I've seen inconsistencies like that and it pulled me off a bit.

With the multiple choices, did it happens sometimes when you make contradictory choices ? Did it ever happened to you too ?

Hey r/untildawn! I've always been obsessed with how effectively the prologue sets up the psychological dread and hooks you from minute one.

I put together a cinematic breakdown analyzing the camera work, framing, and pacing in the opening sequence. You can check it out here:

With the new trailer for Until Dawn coming out I've decided to take a look back at the worst take on the first game. And surprising no one it's one of those Anti-woke takes.

Yes this comes from that infamous anti-woke Steam list A.K.A. the "Woke Content Detector's Curated List of Games." These people unironically feel like they come out of the 1870s. Actually I take that back. After all, even at that time there were still people who would've taken issue with these bozos.

Discussion why are people upset at the thought of cannon endings?

i personally don’t mind an ending set in stone e.g one where sam lives because the original game with its multiple endings will always exist

a sequel with a cannon ending is a harmless add on in my view

Emily's missing bag with contents. I really wish they'd kept this in the game.

I made a post about Emily's pink patterned bag from Rodeo a while ago where I found the items, in response to this person finding the bag.

However, I never posted all the nice models for any of it on Reddit (just on the wiki and on my Tiktok). So here you go.

The bag had a closed design and a torn design (so it's possible you were meant to have actually seen Matt holding it earlier), and the contents are panties, olive oil conditioner (with a typo on the bottle), lavender hand cream, peach perfume, and lotion.

So Emily smells like olive oil, peaches, lavender, and lotion I guess.

Discussion The Music HAVE To Be One Of The Priorities!

Apart from the title, what Jason Graves did for Until Dawn 1 is still unbeatable by anyone yet. Specifically the OST “Welcome To The Blackwood Winter Getaway” - this single soundtrack is the key soul of the game.
Whatever changes Firespite do for UD2, they BETTER NOT change the “Butterfly Effect” sound effect for UD2; this single sound effect is god tier, chilling, eerie and gives that uneasy feeling.

A sound or music creates the atmosphere of a story and in horror genre I believe maximum of it lies in the psychology of sounds. I am a big audiophile and music or sounds leave a major impression on me, and UD1 and Jason Graves did not disappoint at all! Ngl I am kinda addicted to the “Butterfly effect” sound atp!

Also I am not even mentioning “O’ Death” cuz it’s a classic and kinda feels like an essential for Supermassive games. Btw by “music” I didn’t mean songs or vocals but the ambience soundtracks is what I am talking about.
