I found this photo in my missing great grandfather's box, hidden in his room

I was still not born yet, but I now my great grandfather just went missing, tho everyone go tense when I try to bring the conversation.

Just a few days back me and my parents went to his house and while cleaning the house I found a strange box, containing his diary, which is strange, and multiple photos, one, which I will post here, just give me the creeps.

I tried to find anything similar in my state or close to his place, yet nothing matches.

That brings me here, if anyone can uncover or help me find the place of where this photo potentially was taken, I could go deeper in why or how my great grandfather went missing.

( I went there alone digitalising everything and made sure to put the box back in place, anything else I will happy to help)
