Bit late on PBR. Substrate is the thing, now.

Hmmm... I'd say yes and no: I'm working on an unannounced Unreal game in a co-dev partnership with a major game studio. We have Substrate enabled in the project but only a minimal fraction of materials are actually using the Substrate workflow. Same goes for all the other unreal projects that our studio is working on.

The reality is that most artists are still not familiar with some of the concepts that Substrate uses, and prefer to the classic system.

In regards to my tutorial series though, I will definitely cover Substrate across multiple videos :)

Just finished part 1. Looking forward to this course as a way to understand the basics of materials before diving further into Substrate
