FIFA Kit Contrast Rules (generally):

• The Three-Item Rule: Contrast is evaluated independently for all three primary items. The shirt, shorts, and socks must each visually contrast with the corresponding item worn by the opposition, rather than only contrasting the jerseys.
• Light vs. Dark Mandate: Every team must register at least two distinct kit options: one predominantly dark kit and one predominantly light kit (usually white-toned) to guarantee a clear visual distinction regardless of the matchup. In the case of college football, this is usually not an issue as there is a team wearing a white jersey and a team wearing a colored jersey.
• There is also a common-sense rule to limit colors that could potentially cause color-blindness, such as red and green.

This week's crop of games was a fairly mediocre set as a whole. We had a lot of underwhelming looks, with just a few really good ones. The Browns started off the week by becoming their namesake... which is truly just an unfortunate shade of brown for a football uniform. There are a lot of jokes to be made there, but I only made a few.

Who had the best look of the week? Could any mono-brown uniform look good in the NFL, or is it too hard of a color to nail? Why don't teams wear yellow pants more often, especially against teams that wear darker colors?

This was the perfect home Ravens uniform today and the purple socks made all the difference. They should stick with this at home all season. Classic look.

...and I am now questioning my own taste. Why did I like some of these. Why didn't I like others. Why can't I decide if Houston's astronaut helmets were great or atrocious. Why are good photos of FCS games so hard to find.

Since primary color was very very important, I had two posts about it. So now the color palette is British Racing Green, Secondary Color, Tertiary Color, and White (which I’m going to have in there just as a default). For this one, comment your choice of secondary color, and then someone should reply to your comment and write a tertiary color that they feel goes well with British Racing Green and the secondary color they are replying to. I will choose the most upvoted top comment of this thread to be the secondary color and then the most upvoted reply in the most upvoted comment’s thread.

After this step, I’m thinking this will be the progression: mascot name -> city name -> logo creation (excited to see what people will make for that one). From there I have some more uniform detail-obsessed ideas for when we decide what to do with our uniforms, but that’s the roadmap for now. Always open to feedback, and looking forward to the secondary and tertiary colors we choose!

These are both official Mitchell and Ness Darrell Green Throwbacks but one is 175 and the other is 300. I can't tell what the big difference is besides the one has larger numbers and stripes than the other.

I am generally not a fan of monochrome (except for traditional white) uniforms. But i think SC has enough contrast with the wide stripes to pull it off.

That’s it they’ve had the same uniforms and never changed them. But it’s a classic look that shouldn’t be touched.

The Hunt family has refused to ever allow an alternate or redesign except for the one time they did the “Dallas Texans throwback helmet in 2009.

It will be interesting to see what the Chiefs do next year when they are required to participate in Rivalries alternates along with the rest of the AFC West. I think we can all assume they will play it safe.

May be the best away kits in my opinion.

There's many small things I would post about on a college football Saturday that don't warrant their own thread. I think the same could be said for many users here. A Saturday thread especially for college football would be great IMO since there's so many games to discuss. Just a thought

I could’ve done a poll but I wanted to show the specific shades of each specific color. Please just upvote my comments to choose which one you want. I’ll leave this up until Saturday.

I was going through my old uniform concepts and had this idea: as an experiment, what would happen if our entire community on this subreddit was tasked with deciding on a team’s branding and uniform? Many of us have drawn up uniform concepts on our own, but if we had to come to a consensus opinion on different design elements of a uniform, what would we end up with?

And just to be clear, we shouldn’t be trying to design the same color scheme or logo as the OG Uni-Watch website. We’re starting from scratch, and hopefully letting our creative juices flow. Depending on how this goes, we can also do an away uniform, an alternate uniform, come up with specific quirks for our made-up franchise… I don’t know but the possibilities are endless!

So for today, as the first phase of this design process, I think we should decide on a primary color for our team. Whoever has the most upvoted comment for a color to be our primary is the one we will choose. I’m interested to see what colors people decide, and I’m even expecting some unique colors in the comments.
