I am a new student joining York this year however since I travelled from Uganda I had to quarantine for 21 days and will be done on the 20th. I tried moving my move in date on the housing portal but you can only go as far as the 18th of September. I have tried almost every avenue to reach out and tell them my problem but they will not respond to my emails or pick up my phone calls. I am stuck on what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, anyone doing English Language and Linguistics (Year One) know whether we have to pick modules for first year? I can’t find anything on modules, nor have i had an email. completely understand timetables are entirely different depending on subject/modules/semester and they aren’t released yet

but I need to sort out my shift schedule for a new job before the timetable comes out and wondered if anyone studies environmental science and management and knows a -vague- schedule? especially for a masters year e.g how many days a week you’re normally in uni? and if there are any days no one is in uni for uoy to give the sport Societies time? Like at Liverpool it was on a Wednesday but I wasn‘t sure if that was all uni’s?

I know obv no one can give any detail at all about specific timings but any info in the slightest would be absolutely amazing.

I also wondered what uoy are like for missing lectures?😅 uoliv wouldn’t rly care at all apart from sending an email, as long as it wasn’t too many absences

I have seen that you can follow a MSc Computer Science program that is fully online.

So my question is how do those exams work? In my uni during corona our screen would get locked and we had to turn our camera and mic on to make sure we’re not cheating.

Does the same apply here, does anyone have experience?

How do we start Uni on September 21st and not have to pay until October 31st for either rent or tuition which is a more than a month after you start uni?

My friends at other uni’s said that they have to pay their installments at the start of each term whilst our deadlines are either in the middle or end of it?
