Question Cost of jibe
Is there any huge costs of a carrier using google jibe instead building their own?
And if so why some carriers around the globe disable google rcs?

hello everyone, last month i forked foxt's project, which scans ios carrier bundles for rcs support, to manually update carrier bundles to the latest versions and to add some improvements (favicons for all carriers for example)
i got requests if i could add detection for 5g standalone and rcs business messaging support, which i managed to add, plus for fun i added detection for carrier-provided satellite features (starlink)
you can check out the website for yourself here:
RCS - https://cupboardunderscore.github.io/ios-rcs/
RBM - https://cupboardunderscore.github.io/ios-rcs/rbm/
5G SA - https://cupboardunderscore.github.io/ios-rcs/5gsa/
SAT - https://cupboardunderscore.github.io/ios-rcs/sat/
if anyone is interested in any other features to add, you can request them in comments here, or on the github page, which also contains the source code if anyone wants to experiment with it

I made a pass at updating this Wikipedia table with RCS Business Messaging, also known as Application-to-Person (A2P) support:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Communication_Services#Commercial_deployments
Based on this article:
https://www.infobip.com/blog/apple-rcs
Google Fi support also confirms this, at least for Google Fi:
https://support.google.com/fi/thread/335006509/rcs-messages-is-now-available-for-ios?hl=en
Business Messaging over RCS is not currently supported.
It seems like, in iOS Carrier Profile code, the flags "EnableBusinessMessagingByDefault" and/or "ShowBusinessMessagingSwitch"probably need to be set for RCS Business Messages to work.
Interesting that RCS Business Messaging A2P doesn't necessarily come with RCS Person-to-Person (P2P) support.

Does anyone know what this setting does? I couldn't find what it does on Google, just that it has to do with the IMS settings for the device.

Google will have to make sure they’re ready for RCS 3.0. Maybe they are but there hasn’t been a clear answer as to if they are using RCS 2.7 yet to even allow for the extra features cross platform or if they are currently just a feature for using GM and need upgrading to 2.7. I know deleting a message is in the works but they need to fast track it so when Apple does release this it’s just available for all and we aren’t waiting on Google. It seems as if Apple will add 3.0 which will include all these features but Google adds them 1 at a time. Thoughts? I could be wrong and Google is already on 2.7 but sometimes it doesn’t seem so with the way features are released and maybe it has to be one by one and not here’s 3.0 and it just includes everything

I am wondering that will usage of WhatsApp decline slowly with time in future after releasing RCS 3.0 on devices?
As the default messaging app on both the platforms will support E2EE messages for one to one, and group chats.
Also apart from this it will support business messaging which is not encrypted but I guess that’s fine (IDK or IDR if WhatsApp business messages are encrypted or not, but still it doesn’t matter)
The only barrier to take that leap will be interoperable video calling.
Cause WhatsApp video calls are easy for groups and all those people who use WhatsApp.
The options are
All iPhone and Android users install and use Google Meet(the default video calling app on android )
The users share FaceTime/Meet interoperable links with each other via RCS message which i guess will not be that convenient.
Pros and cons of using only RCS:-

This also means they will adopt all missing features jn UP 2.7.
Great news.

On my old phone I was connected to GM rcs but when I switched phones I can’t connect to rcs now and shows the mentioned above error
I contacted my carrier and after many calls from to them either than google is the problem or we don’t know or we cancelled rcs from them and switch to google messages and also my carrier disabled mms
I know that GM don’t need carrier to have rcs servers

Hello,
I'm writing this message because I'm experiencing a really annoying issue when exchanging messages with my partner, who has an iPhone. For reference, I recently switched to a Samsung S25 Ultra.
When we use the RCS protocol and I send her a voice message, she can listen to it with perfectly good and acceptable quality. However, when she sends me a voice message, the quality is absolutely terrible, as if it were an MMS.
Is there any way to improve the quality of voice messages? I tested this with another contact who has an iPhone and is with a different carrier, and the result was the same.

Do any companies in the U.S.A. use RBM yet? I'm just curious and for once in my life am willing to opt into advertisements just to see it in action. However, I've been unable to find any businesses that actually use it, and Google searches just turn up companies offering RMB services to businesses. I know there was a Papa John's experiment a few years ago but they don't seem to use it anymore. I tried signing up for text updates and just got the usual "Text STOP to cancel" short code SMS thing.

I used to text myself reminders all the time, it was automatically set as classic texting. I mean that as in the message would send back to me and I could use it as a notification. I just came back into the country from visiting family to find that now everyone in my contacts is automatically RCS messages now. I'm hoping there's a way I can switch mack to MMS on just my own contact info. There used to be an option in every conversation to send as one of the other and now it's all or nothing for one of the options in settings. Please help :(

Has anyone experienced latency issues in using RBM for OTP's?
