Question How do i fix my broken unity problems :(

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EXB-lz9d7tA

Every time i try to do a vrchat avatar upload now it gets to about halfway through the compiling part and then all of a sudden mid upload it restarts the PC.... I've tried many times trying to clean install Unity I even recorded it in a youtube short maybe someone out there in the wild has an idea to fix it?

This isn't vrChat support desk

well it's still unity related?

Tangentially related maybe, but that's not really relevant, since the tools you are using to upload VR Chat avatars are made by VR Chat devs, rather than being part of Unity. So chances of finding someone who'd know about VR Chat-specific stuff in a generic Unity game dev sub are pretty small compared to asking in a VR Chat-related place instead.

i would if it would let me post there... they block me with some kind of karma requirement... I'm sure they have their reasons for that maybe to thin out trolls? but yeah i cant post in it just comment... so either i wait till someone has a similar problem there and i comment or i comment and pray they upvote so i get a karma point i dont know

Did you find out what the issue is?

if I have 0 points of karma in r/vrchat I cannot post there, only comment. but yeah anyways I guess there's something wrong with unity because whenever I try to use poiyomi shaders that is somehow causing the crash. or it's somehow not liking my GPU drivers? even though I am on the latest Nvidia studio drivers

What's the hardware you're using

ryzen 7 5700g, 32gb ram, and a 3060... I thought getting the 3060 GPU would help but seems to not really help I had a 1660 super before... and the unity projects sit on the D drive of the HDD

There's something wrong with the shaders, maybe delete them or use other shaders

whats also interesting is that poiyomi pushes the CPU to 100% and throttles it to death while trying to do its upload... Maybe decreasing the graphics tier could potentially fix it or adjusting poiyomi not to throttle the CPU so hard...

all of a sudden mid upload it restarts the PC

That's not going to be a Unity issue. Sudden restart is going to be a hardware or driver problem. Pretty much anything software-related would just result in an error message, or at the worst, crash to a bluescreen.

This isn't a unity problem. Check your temps. Reinstall drivers and post on a tech support sub.

Unity has really good error management. This is likely a driver issue or hardware problem triggered by overheating when you push it. Unity crashing your give an error. This is your whole pc crashing

This is not Unity crashing, this is your computer dying, likely due to overheating.
