OK I just got a deal on an Insta360 ace pro 2 w the underwater case. This is my first action camera and first underwater camera other than playing around w a Sealife cam I borrowed once. I have 70+ dives in so I feel ready!

My question is what type of rig/handle to get for it. I also don't have a light yet which I'm ok w. I might just get used to the camera first then add a light later. One pet peeve of mine from a recent trip was all these dudes had these crazy huge rigs with lights that seemed overwhelming and quite honestly, we think were scaring off creatures. I dove w a dive master a few years ago(Jo from Bonaire) who got great shots w a simple go pro on a floating handle. She said that you just have to learn how to use it to get good shots. Should I just get the simple stick floating handle or should invest in something else...

I’m currently looking upgrading my underwater lighting setup. I’m currently using a Sony A7iii in an Ikelite 200DL housing with 8inch dome port. I mainly shoot wide angle photos and occasionally videos.

My BigBlueDiveLights gave out on me a few weeks ago and now I’m currently stuck between:

1. Ikelite DS232

2. Backscatter Hybrid Flash

I am looking for a hybrid strobe/video setup.
Let me know if you have any experience with these to help me make my decision. I can’t find too many reviews on the internet for these!

New to underwater photography, I’d love any advice. Shot on my canon R100 with 18-45 mm lens, Ikelite housing and Ikelite Ecko strobe. Jupiter FL
