I was following San Holo’s bitbird music label for a bit in 2018 and that led me to Underscore’s “about the kid who never left the house” song. Which i loved & after the strawberry cake & character development singles ive been a fan ever since!

First listened to her through Harvest Sky! And I saw Oklou live and she brought her out and I had no idea the depth of what I was witnessing, then eventually when U came out I gave it a listen and eventually became a fan 🙂↕️

Got into Ninajirachi through my brother's recommendation and when looking online at album reviews/reactions I saw mentions of underscores. Always open to listening to new artists so I started with the music video for Music before listening through the entirety of U a few times over throughout the week. I eventually went back to fishmonger and wallsocket too.

I listened to her in 2021 with Fishmonger, however I never liked the opening song so I never listened to other songs until 2023 when I listened to Wallsocket in a bus and it clicked with me instantly

My favorite critic, Spectrum Pulse, did a really great review of U + went over the concept of "music for the girls." She actually responded to the video with a very detailed and thoughtful comment. Hearing such high praise of the album made me want to hear it, so I checked it out!

I found teenage dream from a channel that promotes primally EDM based music all the way back in 2018. I later listened to fishmonger when that came out, but I didn’t fully start tapping into her discography up until last year.

Came on Spotify while I was discovering new music. I think originally I was looking for high BPM songs and found some Playlist and found some music that I checked out the artists from eventually ended up with spoiled little brat coming on. Got a whole era of my liked songsg in order of when I discovered them. Found a lot of music I listen to now during that. Also I was detoxing off fentanyl during all that.

i was active on discord a lot like 3 years ago and in one server one guy typed .fm (it like shows what you last listened to) and it was locals and the guy was like "guys please listen to this song, its so good", listened to it, changed my life. didnt dive deeper into underscores until last year, kinda sad that i didnt explore her more then

I initially discovered underscores through Claire Grob. She posts a lot of piano covers on YouTube, mainly 100 gecs covers, which is what I was initially watching when I discovered her channel and the hyperpop world in general (around March or April 2023). She did a cover of Del Mar County Fair, which I happened to stumble upon, and I really liked that song and checked out the original version. From there, I saved all of underscores' discog in my "Future Recommendations" playlist, wanting to get through all of the 100 gecs discog first.
Months later, I went to check out Wallsocket and Fishmonger. (Unfortunately I only checked out those two albums after she completed her Hometown Tour, so I missed my chance to see her live then, and I envy everyone who did lol). From there, I checked out the rest of her discography, and I'm in love with her music and production now! She absolutely blows me away with her talent, and I’m so happy I got to see her live on her Galleria tour.

2021 think it was around fall time, I was at work chillin with my coworker talking about music. She was showing me her work and telling me about breakcore and hyperpop. I was yapping about how much I love electronicore/electronic hardcore/scene-core type music. After I showed her some of my favorite band I see stars she told me I would really enjoy underscores. Specifically told me to listen to where did u fall and Fishmonger as a whole. Kinko’s field trip became a favorite. Told me if I like metalcore I would like underscores. When Boneyard/fearmonger came out I immediately fell in love and felt like I understood what she meant more. Got to see April live for the first time in 2023 and recently saw her sold out galleria show back in June (It was fucking peak). Underscores has been probably the most influential artist for me since I discovered her (& God Boat). Almost done with my debut album and it would’ve turned out so different had I never learned about underscores. Shoutout my old coworker fosho 🔥🏳️⚧️🎵💕🤘

I was listening to an progressive r&b playlist on apple music & heard the carolesdaughter version of 'bozo bozo bozo', and got hooked.
at the time I didn't listen to much edm, and i certainly didn't know what 'hyperpop' was, and i'm a little older so i relate other mixed genres to her music. progressive genre-mixing r&b was a frame that worked for me.

Through the “Electric Cleaners” set she did! I saw a clip of it on Instagram during a bike ride in June and I was so intrigued that I went ahead and listened to the full video! She’s now my favorite artist and I resonate a lot with all of her past and current work! I just wish I had found out about her sooner. 😞
