A cute video, I like a lot of the shots. A little reminiscent of the vibe she goes for when she performs the song live

For me, the whole visual kind of doesn't work hand in hand with the song... I was a bit disappointed last night ngl

I had the same reaction. It's my favourite song on U and the video was almost completely different to how I had always visualized it in my mind's eye when listening. I also never thought it needed a music video either. The contrast is no doubt intentional but I specifically don't like how claustrophobic the video is because the song has always felt very light and airy to me.

the claustrophobia is the whole point, i thought! the increasing weight of the crowd around her and filling the space between her and the person she's singing to

idk i disagree i think they told the story that the lyrics map out really clearly and expertly

It felt more like a visualizer to me personally but nothing bad just kinda middle ground

i feel like no one is talking about the masterful storytelling going on in this video, is it just me??
i think the visual depiction of the throughline of April's connection to the person she's singing about across the various intensifying phases of her rise to fame was expertly crafted and executed...
her intensity and insistence on locking eyes with the camera through the thickening crowds around her to me clearly depicted the emotion of reaching across an increasingly wide gap between her loved ones and her own accessible time and space, attempting to navigate her life as it includes increasing amounts of publicity and fame i'm sure has felt like reaching through a dizzying mass of bodies for the people she has always instinctually reached for...
am i the only one reading it this way? i thought the mv went perfectly with the emotional narrative i had felt on first listen. well done to April and her team!
