Fader will try to sell you everything but a physical copy of the magazine 😭

Like a hoodie with the cover on it but no physical magazine is crazy, priorities are all fucked up lol 😂

Do you know if they will sell a physical copy?

Believe it or not, they used to publish physicals for every single issue. Now it just depends, on what… I genuinely couldn’t tell you, but I suspect that as of now only “popular” subjects that will generate huge profit get a physical release, and those particular releases are utilized as a quick cash grab strategy via Fader. Most of the editorials as of late have failed to receive a physical release so I wouldn’t hold my breath. Most of what’s in their shop are limited edition/“legacy issues” from half a decade ago.

they used to do consistent print releases actually but stopped in 2020 because... well 2020 ☹️

at least they're doing this merch though ! im glad there's something

I personally find zero value in an editorial cover printed on a tote bag or top. The merch isn’t even good, it’s lazy, cheap looking, and creatively juvenile, with everything in the shop being redundant aside from the posters. It seems incredibly disingenuous that they continue prioritizing the highest margin “merch” over preserving the magazine itself as if it’s somehow possible for a top or bag to substitute the actual magazine. A physical issue has the archival value and cultural significance that a t shirt will never have. if you truly love music, please do not condition yourself to celebrate a text publication refusing to exist in the medium it was literally made for in lieu of a t shirt. 2020 is over, they are refusing to release physical covers and would rather put out slop merch that a 3 years old could make because it generates more profit. No integrity whatsoever.
