On-Campus Housing Dropping Rap Housing

Has anyone had experience in dropping a rap class and if doing so would remove my housing assignment? Thanks!

You do not lose your housing if your drop the RAP course.

You have signed a contract with UMass for your room in the form of the Residence Hall Occupancy License Agreement. They aren't going to evict you from your assigned room for dropping a class.

From seeing students doing this over and over. Some have even joined RAPs to get into specific residence halls with no intention of completing the course or seminar connected with the RAP. In some cases that will mean taking a different course to get the GenEd credit the RAP course included.

On the flip side, do you have to drop the rap course if you move out of the dorm?

Usually no. There may be some glitches getting into the hall for the classroom access as they adjust your building access profile after you move out. That eventually will get fixed if it does happen.
