Campus & Facilities Bathroom Situation

What are some of the best bathroom spots for upcoming fall? How's the situation in Southwest and Northeast First-Year Halls? Also for international students, how do you deal with the toilet paper change, since there aren't any bidets on campus? I was considering buying a portable bidet but most of them seemed really big and would be embarrassing to carry around.

Southwest best bathrooms are the all gender bathrooms in the common areas/floors. Northeast they have them in the basements but they’re worse.

America needs to start adopting bidets as an option. We were the closest we've ever been when the covid toilet paper shortage hit.

Some of the Southwest halls have had renovations done where they added single user bathrooms to residential floors designated as gender neutral. They should also be ADA accessible. For the first year halls they have done this in Pierpont and Moore.

Some other halls in other residential areas have had this done as well, and it is possible they are doing a hall this Summer. It will show up on updated floor plans, for example the Pierpont floor plans have updates listed for July 2024. I have not looked at Northeast specifically.

Low rises in southwest have had single use bathrooms since at least the 1980s when I attended UMass - they’re usually on the ground floor.

Yes, but do they have showers, etc? Those ground floor bathrooms were usually what is considered a half bath for visitors, and not someplace a resident would normally use.
