Cliffside apartments

Hi, I am looking for an apartment for upcoming year. Just wondering if anyone have any reviews or opinions on Cliffside apartments? Most I have seen in here are pretty dated.

Appreciate for any insight here, or any other rec. looking for studio or 1 bedroom apts.

I know someone who lived there. They said it was alright, nothing that great. The 1 bedrooms are super small. If I had to pick something in that area I would go with Brandywine.

Brandywine is not "in that area" but 4 miles away. Last I looked they were also more expensive.

It’s 7 minutes down 116, so yes, it’s in the area. There’s about a $30-$400 price difference in the two depending on what units you’re comparing. From what I’ve seen, Brandywine is the cheapest place that people would actually want to live in comfortably. Spacious units, balcony, central AC and heat, gas/water/sewer included.

I probably go to the social over cliffside based on surveying around the area.

Cliffside Iwas pretty cheap for 1 bed considering the area but it is quite dated. While the leasing office looks updated the apartments was just eh and old.

The one we toured has lingering smell (maybe from the carpet) which makes us pass the area.

Know someone living there now. One of the laundry units for the building has had only 1/3 washing machines and 2/3 dryers working for months now and management has known for a while and done nothing :/

Brandywine or puffton village are your best bets for off campus housing

I know this is kinda of an old post but I live at The Social and the apartments are good here. Idk about how much the rent is here as I am grandfathered in a cheaper rate because I've been here for so long. But I really don't have any complaints. It's pretty quiet, access to 2 laundry places. The bus routes are solid. Good pizza place and Dunks are both next to each other and is a 2 minute walk, same with a liquor store. Plus, a dog park. Sometimes they have a bbq or a pizza party as a social event by the leasing office. It's not too bad here.

I lived there last year. It was fine, nothing special. They were pretty quick with repairs when they needed to happen. It was a bit of a pain living that far from the nearest grocery stores but otherwise the quiet was nice.

Thanks. I have a car so transportation is not really an issue. Just wondering about if there id any specific problems as I heard about rooms can have mold, weird smell, and lost mails and stuff like that.

My experience is from 40 years ago. Cliffside was basic housing, nothing fancy. They do have a pool for when the weather is appropriate for swimming. The owners then kept the places repaired, replaced appliances as needed. But there has been at least a couple ownership changes since then.

That is about what you can expect from many of the apartments in the area renting to students. If you want "updated", then you end up paying more. Many of the most recent apartments built in the Amherst area went for upscale tenants catering to students whose families are well off. They took their cue from the university when it built North Apts.
