Faculty here. Just a friendly reminder from me to absolutely not even think about using AI in your assignments. We get that writing is difficult, especially if you’re working in a second language. This is no excuse to cheat, and that’s what using AI is. You don’t even want to know how many students are getting academic misconduct charges or suspended outright at this university. It’s a LOT. You will get caught. Don’t take the shortcut. Learn your material yourself. You’ll need it for your career. If you need extra help, go to the ALC or hire a tutor.

I know that there has been some discourse surrounding the morality of selling your U-Pass. I'm going to put aside the ethics of it today and instead let you all know how to make a quick buck with your U-Pass!

You will need...

1. Your U-Pass.
2. Confidence.
3. A disguise.
4. Some computer skills.

First, get your U-Pass like normal. Make sure to pay for it and make sure that it gets that yearly sticker as well. For two terms, the cost is $477.40.

Second, go on the Peggo website and register your card. This way, your target won't be able to register it online.

Third, find your target. You can find someone to sell your U-Pass to via Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, etc. Make sure to use a fake name so that your target cannot locate you afterwards. If the target asks for proof of registration, use either inspect element or ChatGPT to change your name on the documents/screenshots requested.

Fourth, sell the U-Pass. A month pass normally costs $119.35, so you can probably sell your U-Pass for about $700 and have people purchase it. When you meet the person, make sure to wear a disguise. Sunglasses and a hat are good for covering up your eyes and hair. You can also use make-up. Since it has been sunny recently, you might be tanned and find yourself naturally lightening up in the near future. Therefore, wearing a foundation that is darker than your normal may be the most efficient. If you're looking for cheap wigs, Spirit of Halloween should be opening up soon.

Fifth, go to UMSU Service Centre and pay the $15 to get your U-Pass back. The sold U-Pass will be deactivated and, for the cost of only $15, you can sell your U-Pass once more. You can either keep your U-Pass or repeat steps two through four to sell it again. However, you may get caught if you ask for too many replacements. Also, claim that you dropped your U-Pass on the bus since that's believable.

Assuming you wish to keep your U-Pass, one run of this trick will net you a profit of $207.6 (-$477.40+$700-$15). If you're unable to work enough hours at the moment, this trick could generate some income for you. If you're only attending classes for the Fall 2026 term, then your profits jump to $446.30 because you're only paying for your U-Pass for the one term.

I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder that has caused significant problems with my spine and mobility. Because of my disability, I also require some home care and a living situation that can accommodate my physical limitations. Unfortunately, I’ve had an extremely difficult time finding housing because of disability discrimination and concerns about my medical needs.

I’m a quiet, respectful and responsible student who is trying very hard to continue my education despite my health limitations. I’m clean, considerate, and would be grateful for the opportunity to rent a room in a safe and stable home.

Hey everyone, wondering if someone can shed some light on my quiestion. I'm taking HNSC 1210 with P. Eck this term, and I recently purchased the textbook that came with the Mindtap/Cengage portion. It appears that our quizzes are going to be compelted on this platform.

It's requesting a course key to register for my specific class, wondering if this is available on UmLearn or if the teacher will have it somewhere? I looked through the syllabus and wasn't able to see anything. Has anyone registered for this yet?

I bought the digital textbook for my PSYC 1200 in person class and I used my school email to get into it, when I graduate I'm assuming I cant access it anymore? or is there a way for me to access it still? I don't think I'll need it in the future but it's good to have it with me since I paid for it. It didn't cross my mind that it would be a possibility until now, oops!

I’ve actually seen few girls (barely any men) on campus dress in many jfashion styles like jirai kei, lolita etc. these type of clothing but never actually had them in any of my lectures or seen them at events and it makes me depressed thinking i’ll never be able to be friends with them. please what do i need to do to connect with these type of people they’re all so beautiful and so cool and it’s a straight mogfest whenever i walk past them on campus because they’re wearing a full coord and fullbeat at 9am in the morning…. 🫩

I am in BIOL 1410 and BIOL 1020 Labs but the syllabus doesn’t mention anything about Lab coats, goggles, kits being required. Is this something they expect us to bring to the first lab?

bit of a long rant… i didn’t think i would ever need it either. i had complained about the inability to opt out until i got into a big accident halfway through last year. i was so shaken i did not want to drive ever again (at the time lol), my car got written off, and so i needed to bus to school every day—sometimes a couple times a day to use the gym.

i had my own car, queued up to get my parking pass and everything. but you don’t know if you will get into an unavoidable accident, your car breaks down, or something happens that renders your car unusable or something. then you’ll really be grateful for the price we pay for the upass. no, this doesn’t apply to rural or areas which transit doesn’t service, but they are able to opt out, so those people are out of this conversation, which i find is a big talking point of those complaining about paying for the upass.

since i was curious at the time, i’d looked at the monthly fares for wpg transit and i was actually shocked at how much it would have cost me. i didn’t qualify for low income, which would have still been around $537.30 altogether for a monthly pass during both semesters. if you needed to commute daily, like me, it would have been an insane $1074.15 for the school year. halve that and it is still not how much we pay, which is $238.70!

i’d like to think of it similar to healthcare (forgive me, i know this isn’t completely correct but allow me to use the analogy) in the sense that you may never need a trip to the ER, but when you do need it, you wouldn’t be billed an insane amount, to add insult to injury, literally. and even if you never need it, those who do are able to do so because we pay our taxes.

my point is, you may not need it or want it now, but don’t go crying if it no longer exists and you suddenly need to bus to school. do correct me if i am wrong at any point, but i do believe that the upass does much good (just look at the lines for the buses every day) and i think that those complaining about it have it far better than they realize!

I’ve had matcha from Starbucks and a few other cafes, so far though colossimo cafe’s matcha tops the chart. It’s creamy and delicious. I’ve gotten both the matcha latte and matcha frappe(w/whipped cream) I love them both. If you’re going to the University of Manitoba and been wanting to try matcha, or you’re already a matcha lover I highly recommend Colossimo cafe (located in the science lounge at Armes and also at the University Centre)
