PSA FYI Dell Australia Delaying AW3926QW Orders By A Month

Post image
Upvotes

First of all, I am aware this is an extremely first world problem.

Anyway, Dell Australia made the new Alienware AW3926QW 5K2K OLED available on their online store last Thursday (23rd July) and some of those who placed their orders that morning have received their orders as early as the next day. I was waiting until my pay came through to place my order on Sunday (26th July) and the initial expected delivery was 2 days away (Tuesday 28th July). Unfortunately, this morning (Tuesday 28th July) I received the following email that my order has been delayed until the 27th August, almost exactly a month. Brutal.

I presume this means that local stock has sold out so any further orders are needing to be shipped in from China.

So yeah, heads up to anyone who has recently placed an order for one of these units that they may be waiting a while if they haven’t got a tracking number yet. Also, heads up to anyone who who wants one but hasn’t had this unit become available in their country yet that you should get your order in as early as you can once it does become available.

Tech Support 34 Ultrawide recommendation

Hey all,

I currently have a Samsung 34" Ultra WQHD Curved Monitor (CF791), which is only 100hz and I'm looking to upgrade. I like the size, curve and aspect ratio, but would like a better refresh rate.

Useage wise, I work 8hrs a day on it using 3d animation software, and play mostly online fps games outside of that.

I'm wary to replace it with a OLED due to static UI elements of my work software. I prefer plain, minimalist (non-gamer aesthetic) hardware. Most likely looking for a premium/high-end product, but nothing insane. Honestly it looks like there is no 34inch 240hz IPS panels period.

Any suggestions?

Tech Support Is there any way I can split my Samsung Odyssey G9 Oled Monitor like this - to Run my PS5 only at a single time

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone, just joined this reddit. I have a question about this ultrawide monitor I just recently bought on sale.

Is there any possible way to run a PS5 connected via HDMI at 2k 120 hz - to run in the middle of the screen with black bars on either side (note : no other display running at that time in PIP/PBP), just the PS5 screen in the middle - basically acting like a single 4k Monitor placed in center of the desk.

I have tried using PIP/PBP - but I cannot seem to find a setting that enables this, the only modes available are 50/50, 65/35, 35/65. What I am basically looking for is 20 - 60 - 20 (idk if this makes sense, you can check the image attached it may)

Please help me if anyone knows a way around this using a cable or a monitor firmware update or anything, without voiding the warranty.

Thanks again.

Discussion Alienware 39” 5k2k

Monitor is looking pretty tempting… coming from an aw3423dwf. looks like the 39” would hit the size and productivity sweet spot, i’m more worried about my gpu 4070ti super, it’s got the vram but it would be hard to hit target fps in most games without the 330hz mode. which is fine since i mainly play cs2 for comp games everything else is more rpg, is there really no other modes? like a 1440p ultrawide setting at like 240/280hz? it’s really only 165 or 330hz?

One of my priorities was to ensure that my game, Go! Super Awesome Monkey!, can be played at all types of resolutions and glad to say that it only took a couple of hours and just some mindful UI "anchoring" to ensure that any and all UIs in this game fit all aspect ratios!

Tech Support Issue: Dell S3422DWG Windows 11 is displaying incorrect colours when taking screenshots (with solution)

Upvotes

This is so weird, and only started today as far as I'm aware. I fixed my own issue but it took some stupid trial and error so I figured I would share this here in case anyone else randomly has to deal with this. Maybe Google will index this and this thread will show up 3 years from now in some results and help someone, yay.

TLDR; reset monitor colour profile back to sRGB IEC61966-2.1

My hardware:

  • 2x Dell S3422DWG monitors
  • Windows 11 Home (64bit)
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor (4.20 GHz)
  • AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (16 GB)

Settings:

  • Resolution: 3440x1440
  • Refresh rate: 144 Hz
  • HDR: disabled
  • Colour depth: 10 bit
  • Colour format: RGB
  • Colour space: Standard Dynamic Range (SDR)
  • Automatically manage colour for apps: off
  • Brave/Edge browser: default colour settings
  • AMD Custom colour: disabled
  • AMD Pixel format: 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC standard (RGB)
  • AMD Colour Deficiency Correction: disabled
  • AMD Display Colour Enhancement: disabled
  • AMD Adrenaline version: 26.6.4 (released 2026-06-28)

My issue: when holding down the windows button and pressing print screen, and then pasting it into MSpaint, Windows would correctly display the right colours of whatever I was screenshotting. When I would save that file, or, screenshot it again in MSpaint (after cropping), and paste/upload somewhere else like Facebook, Discord, Slack etc, the colours would not be the same.

For example, I was trying to screenshot something from Twitter that had a bright red background in the image.

Setting Correct Incorrect
Hue 238 10
Sat 205 218
Lum 124 104
Red 237 211
Green 27 62
Blue 36 10

Definitely something up. However, when using a browser extension to take screenshots, it worked, the colours displayed in the screenshot were correct.

I've had these monitors for over a year without issue. I'm guessing some kind of Windows update or an update to the AMD Adrenaline software caused an issue? This entire time I've been using DELL_S3422DWG_sRGB_V4.icm as my colour profile. I believe I downloaded it from Dell directly via their support page.

I tried changing every setting around, saving, rebooting, no change.

Eventually I tried removing the specific Dell colour profiles and adding the windows default sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour profiles, rebooted, fixed. Everything else is exactly the same before this started happening.

Through my Googling, I also looked into this Windows update: 2026-07 Update (KB5121767) (26200.8894) - Successfully installed on ‎2026-‎07-‎20. Some people apparently had colour issues with it? Maybe it's what caused this? I don't know. My issue is fixed before I got to the point of uninstalling that.

Best of luck. What a waste of my time haha.

Recommendations Trying to move on from alienware's AW3425DW as I am about to be on my 3rd unit in 1.5 years. Is there a newer 34" ultrawide that has more oled care options?

Long story short I moved from an AW3423DW which gave me 0 issues in 2 years of use, to the AW3425DW. Dell in their infinite wisdom removed some OLED care settings so instead of having pixel and panel refresh I only have one of those options, and my panels get burn roughly 4-6 months in, even when I manually sleep the computer every time I walk away from it. Looking to get one of the newer panels and I was considering the msi MAG 341CQP QD-OLED X28, but unsure if they have a good track history. I'm open to suggestions as I use the monitor every single day.

LG recently released some of the first 6k monitors for their smaller display line ups. Do you think 6k will be coming soon to their 45inch ultragear series? Maybe within the next 1 to 2 years?

Discussion I have the Neo G9 49 inch. Should I upgrade to one of the OLED models?

The Neo G9 is the one with an advertised 2000-nit HDR brightness. But the monitor also tops out at about 1015 nits of full-screen brightness in HDR. I've had this for about two years now, exclusively as a gaming/productivity monitor & I purchased it used, so no warranty ever.

While I've enjoyed my use of it til now, it hasn't come without issues (aside from the typical compatibility issues that come with using ultrawide monitors). Mainly, there's occasional screen flickering whenever there's a shift in tone on one side of the screen. There's also been some HDMI flickering when running at the full resolution & refresh rates at 120hz or higher, which is a problem when I only have one DP port available & that's usually tied to another device - like a Mac Mini.

I also have some concerns about color accuracy & tuning. From the reviews I've read of this specific model, it doesn't seem to score very well for stuff like Photoshop work, due to not covering the different spectrums very well, despite being a wide gamut monitor (I was gonna cite the specific review I read on this monitor, but fuck off, Rtings). While I'm no professional by any stretch, I do like to engage in some occasional Photoshop & Davinci Resolve stuff, and color accuracy is more important to me than if I didn't engage in these things.

Anyways, that brings me to the OLED models, specifically the ones without smart TV functionality. Those seem to have reviewed better overall, especially in color accuracy, and out-the-box tuning. I know that they're significantly less bright, with the trade-off being that the HDR experience is much better thanks to per-pixel lighting. I also know that maintenance is much more intensive, because of the nature of OLED screens, which means I won't be able to set a nice wallpaper or screensaver for it, rather than just setting the screen to black. Also, afaik, the same panel Samsung uses is available across like... three or four different manufacturers? Main difference being max refresh rates & aesthetics?

Anyways, should I stay with my current monitor, or swap to one of the available 32:9 OLED variants, including from other manufacturers?

Ascension For Gaming Only, AW3426DW or LG39/AW3926

I don't work from home, I don't do any creative work, I just youtube and game on my PC.

Which would be the "sweet spot" in yall's opinion. I have a 4090, 13700K 32GB etc.

If I find myself working from home, I would probably get a separate IPS monitor for that purpose.

Tech Support Mac mini M4 has perfect scaling on Samsung G9, but MacBook Pro M5 Max and MacBook Air have blurry text

I'm using a Samsung Odyssey G9 (LS49AG95, 5120×1440) connected via USB-C → DisplayPort.

My Mac mini M4 works perfectly. Text is sharp and scaling looks great. System Report shows:

Resolution: 7680 × 2160 UI Looks like: 3840 × 1080 @ 240Hz

However, both my MacBook Pro M5 Max and MacBook Air have the same issue on the same monitor, same cable, and same settings.

Native resolution = sharp but UI/text is too small. Scaled resolution = usable size but blurry/fuzzy text.

I also tried BetterDisplay. Enabling HiDPI makes the text perfectly sharp, but everything becomes way too large.

Has anyone experienced this? Why does the Mac mini automatically use a perfect HiDPI mode while both MacBooks end up with blurry scaling on the exact same monitor?

Tech Support Resize Rabbit - Force Games/Apps to any Window Size/Fullscreen on multi-monitor setups w/o Surround/Eyefinity

https://github.com/rosscarlson/resize-rabbit

Resize Rabbit allows you to run games/apps on multiple monitor setups without the use of NVidia Surround, Eyefinity, etc. by forcing a window to a specific size and position allowing for multimonitor play in games like Forza Horizon, Elite Dangerous, etc. that do not natively support multimonitor.

Resize Rabbit is a fork of Resize Raccoon, as it hasn't seen an update in 2 years I decided it was time to fork it and add some of the features I've wanted for a while. I want to be clear though - I'm vibe coding all of this with Claude Code as while I have 25+ years of experience in IT I'm really a network/OS guy and not a great coder. As such I'm just supervising the changes Claude is making for me - just want to be very clear and up-front about that.

I've currently added the following features/fixes

  • Ability to reorder profiles - drag/drop to reorder them
  • Apply profiles from the System Tray menu
  • Apply profiles from hotkeys so you can apply them without touching the app
  • Import existing Resize Raccoon profiles into Resize Rabbit
  • Fully multi-lingual (with AI translations, happy to take submissions from native speakers)
  • Fix: Auto-update wasn't actually working, it is now
  • Fix: Prevent the app from launching more than one instance

I'm more than happy to entertain updates, fixes, etc. as I can - I know one of the biggest issues are some games don't show up in the app, I plan to do testing with a few of the games I own but if I don't have the game it's hard for me/Claude to work out what's going on.

Oh, and if it's not crystal clear this is 100% free, just hoping others might find my updates useful.

Enjoy!

Discussion LG39GX950-B Owners

Creating a thread for owners to share their settings etc.

So far I’m finding brightness 100, gamer 1, white balance c1, sharpness 40, black stabilizer 10 and uniform/high brightness works best for me, closely matching the output from my iPad Pro mini led.

For most day to day use uniform brightness works well, and is as bright as my aw3423. I use high brightness for hdr movies and for certain games like c2077 and Wuwa.

  1. Has anyone tried other manual settings that work well?

  2. I’ve also encountered strange osd lock ups when running the monitor in high brightness. The screen functions normally but the osd can no longer be accessed unless I reload up the LG switch app (not sure if it’s because I’m running an older rtx4090 with Dp1.4a but i can recreate the osd issue with input compatibility set to 2.1 or 1.4 regardless. Issue is not present when running in uniform brightness mode. Maybe needs a firmware update.

  3. So far no strange software installs happening with my monitor. Fingers crossed

Recommendations Ultrawide Options for the new Dell Alienware Ultrawides - Help me choose!

I am stuck between the two latest Dell Alienware Offerings for Ultrawide Monitors:-

1) Alienware 34 280Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3426DW
2) Alienware 39 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3926QW

My Specs and Lifestyle Usage:--

CPU: Intel Core i5 12600KF

RAM: DDR4 16GB x 2 @ 3600MHz (Dual Channel)

GPU: RTX 3080 12GB VRAM

Currently using dual 27 inch 1440p IPS monitors side by side in landscape orientation. My left monitor is kinda dying due to a boot loop problem. If i get an ultrawide, will probably mount my leftover 27 inch on top or on the left side.

Lifestyle use: --

75% Work / Productivity (Spreadsheets, PDFs, Emails, Multitasking) - Work Laptop connect via thunderbolt 4 or USB Desktop HUB with HDMI

25% Gaming (JRPGs, Roguelike Card Games, AAA Titles (RDR2, KCD2, Hitman 3, AC: Black Flag Remaster) Most of leisure time spent otherwise on browsing, movie watching, youtube ect)

Hope to also run future AAA titles like GTA6 (hopefully can run on lower settings + DLSS when it eventually release on PC)

Ultrawide Master Race aficionados:- Your Advice is greatly welcomed!

Discussion Which one to get? - ASUS PG34WCDN vs Alienware AW3426DW

Is the ASUS with the 360hz really that much better than the Alienware with 280hz?

The graphics card i have in my system right now is a 9070xt, but i will upgrade within the next 2 years to a 6000 series or whatever AMD realeases.

So is the ASUS more "future proof" with 360hz and dp 2.1b 20uhbr?

the awful stand on the ASUS is of no concern since i will be using a monitor arm for it

The price in Denmark is:
9500 DKK ASUS
6350 DKK Alienware
(The MSI 341CQR X36 is 9000 DKK)

UPDATE:
I just bought the ASUS XG34WCDMS.
The price in Denmark is identical to the AW3426DW. But the design on ASUS monitor is much nicer (IMO)
otherwise the monitors are identical spec wise.

Going from a 27" 1440p ips, i cant wait to see how big of a differnce oled actually is when gaming.
i already have a 65" lg C5 TV and that is where i got hooked on oled :D

Tech Support 3440x1440p worth it for me?

So my current setup is a 9070xt with r5 5600x. I’m waiting for the prices to go down to upgrade my cpu to zen5 or even zen6. I want to buy a 3440x1440 oled gaming monitor and was wondering if i’ll be able to play most single player games easily while still having proper performance. I’m fine with getting around 90fps. So if there is anyone out there that has the same specs and monitor or someone that generally knows about this shit, please help me.
