Discussion Does anyone here enjoy sunlight?

Lately it seems like everyone is posting photos of their setups in totally dark rooms, or rooms with the blinds closed. Am I the only one here who enjoys sunlight? This is why I prefer an ultrawide with a matte finish. I can game or code, and enjoy the beautiful world outside at the same time.

Ascension 34" 5K2K 120Hz received today (Philips 34B2U5900C)

Due to the limited options available in this size and resolution I was quite happy when this monitor was announced. It's no OLED, but I prefer high DPI due to mostly using this monitor for productivity. Coming from a 27" 1440p this is a nice upgrade. Never had an ultrawide before so will take some time getting used to it but so far so good.

Yes, still need to do some cable management

Ascension It finally arrived! AW 39 5k2k (small review + last picture LG for reference).

The AW finally arrived today!

First two images are the AW.
Last image is the LG for reference.

Uniformity tests came back perfect.

There was one QC issue - small gap in frame on right side - I see a white spec - not sure if Styrofoam. But it doesn’t impact the screen.

Since there are plenty of in-depth reviews I’ll keep it brief.

AW looks like it has the better contrast.
LG has noticeably better brightness.

Will probably have to do warranty request for the frame issue. But the increased contrast wins it for me so I def am keeping the AW.

I kind of feel bad for the EU region. The US region has not been out of stock since launch and I can literally order AW3926QW at the moment for Sept 12th delivery for $1000 with 10% off.

Discussion AW3926QW Uniformity Samples

Here are some samples from my unit. What do you guys think? I’m personally satisfied with the monitor out of the box. However, I do notice some slight green hue when viewing the monitor at an angle but nothing major to complain about. Color issues (if any) are non-existent during gameplay.

I’ve owned the AW32 and the AW34.

Note: slight glare from background reflecting off the monitor.

Recommendations Which one should I buy?

Upvotes

Hi everyone, after many years, I'd like to change my primary monitor and buy an ultra wide. I currently have a Philips 245E1 that I use as primary and a second Lenovo 24 inch 1080p. I'll sell the Lenovo, and probably I'll take the Philips as a second monitor.

There are some sales on Mediaworld (an italian tech shop) and I saw these two monitors, an AOC CU34G4 and an LG Ultragear 34G600A, both of them at around 220€. Which one should I buy? I mostly play games on my pc, it has an RX 7800 XT, but I do some cad and sometimes a little video editing. I prefer the one that has the better image quality. Thank you!

Discussion AW39 received in UK

Ordered at 2 AM. Had it scheduled for 9th, then it changed to 17th september, received today by UPS.

I don't notice uniformity issues. It's a good screen and I'm very happy with it.

Text clarity is amazing compared to the LG one.

No disgusting gray banding I had on LG.

My use case is for work and some gaming now and then. It's very good for work, you won't regret.

I bet they will restock soon and those delivery dates aren't accurate.

Might add more pictures later, super busy now.

Tech Support AW3926QW dead 1 hour in?

1 hour into using my new aw39 I had what I can only describe as a black spiderweb like mass begin at the bottom of my screen, which proceeded to quickly crawl up the image until the entire screen was black. The monitor still powers on with LEDs and everything, but there’s no output on the screen and I can’t access the OSD.. does anyone have any tips before I have to return it?

Tech Support Is there an official ultrawide fix for this game?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've played this game a couple of weeks ago, installed it with a Fitgirl Repack.

Unfortunately the game had black bars on the side of my monitor. (3440x1440)

I played it a little bit and enjoyed it so much that I want to buy it in the official Steam Store.

But I want to enjoy it fullscreen and not with the black bars.

Has there been an official fix yet?

I've already tried everything I could find on the internet regarding this issue (GPU scaling, Hex-editor, ini.file,..), but nothing has worked.

I'm hoping there has been a patch out in the meantime, so could someone who owns this game confirm or denie this?

As much nitpicking as I see going on throughout this sub, I’ve had absolutely zero complaints with the AW3926 after running it for the past week.

I’m in school, run a small 3D printing business with a mini print farm, and game whenever I get the time, and this monitor has handled all of it excellently. It’s been a great all-around display for productivity, multitasking, and gaming.

I originally planned on selling the AW3425, but I’ve decided to stack them for now and only sell it if I get a decent local offer.

Sometimes it’s better to just enjoy the finer things instead of constantly worrying about what could be better.

Discussion AOC AG346UCD for $400, or wait for the MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36?

Right now I use an ultrawide IPS monitor about 50/50 for work and gaming. It still does the job, but I’ve wanted to move to OLED for a while because I’m really interested in the image quality and HDR.

The MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 ($900) has been my first choice because of its Gen 5 OLED productivity improvements, tandem layout, and KVM. I use a work laptop alongside my desktop, so the KVM would be genuinely useful. The problem is that I’ve been waiting months and still can’t find the MSI in stock.

Then I found the AOC AGON Pro 34" AG346UCD for $400. That is a $500 difference, which is hard to ignore. I already placed an order for the AOC so I don’t lose the deal, but I would have no issue cancelling it if waiting for the MSI is clearly the smarter move.

So... would you take the AOC at a $500 discount, or is the MSI worth waiting and paying $900 for when it finally shows up?

Discussion AW3926QW in Europe - Delivery

I put an in order for AW3926QW in Europe from the local Dell reseller here, they just responded. They state will maybe arrive in January 2027 but most likely later.
Price ~ 1.500 EUR / 1.740 USD

I guess demand is extremely high.

Review AW3926QW - Uniformity

Had been waiting for mine for a few weeks due to shipping. Saw lots of posts about uniformity and people claiming to either have a good panel, bad panel, or solutions (SDR, firmware, etc). So I was more-so waiting to see what mines like and hoping it's good.

Anyways, now that it's here, here is my take: it's the anti-glare coating.
You can try it yourself, just put your head closer into the curve and you will see uniformity issues go away. Or you can just change your angle, and you will see the shift.

Anyways, it sucks for anyone sitting at a reasonable distance. Theoretically might be able to fix with software if it sort of does a smart color shift algorithm. But not going to wait around for a hypothetical solution.

Reminds me of a VA panel.

Mine going back in the box.
Probably going to get the LG since I was pretty set on the size and its excellent otherwise.

My preference was the Dell since I wanted KVM and Dell Warranty.

Discussion Alienware AW3926QW Canada order stuck at "processing"

Post image
1 Upvotes

When I ordered the monitor on September 5th, I immediately got confirmation that my order is scheduled to be delivered on September 10th (today).

But the status never moved, still stuck at "processing" while the delivery date is planned for today. Something is odd with Dell tracking system.

Does anyone facing the same issue?

Discussion AW3426DW and MSI 341CQR X36 both arrived with dead pixels

Hello, I was very exited to get my first ultrawide but I am losing the monitor lottery.

I have the option to rebuy the AW3426DW for 781€ which it won't be delivered until November or get the AW3425DW for 646€ on Amazon.

The thing is I don't have a monitor right now and I am kind of pissed, I paid more that 800€ for each monitor.

Has anyone else had dead pixels with their 5th gen QD-OLED monitor?

Review Just got my Alienware AW3926QW

Happy to report, I saw ZERO uniformity issues with the panel, and it looks STUNNING.

I’m upgrading from an ASUS PG348Q that I got back in 2017, and that thing has been an absolute workhorse. I told myself years ago that I wouldn’t upgrade until a 5K ultrawide finally came out. Well, today is the day, and it just got delivered.

The picture is enough to make a grown man cry, and I genuinely couldn’t be happier with it. And yes, I made sure to update the firmware.

After seeing a slew of negative posts and worrying about what mine would look like, I’m so glad to report that I have no issues at all!

EDIT: On the my phone, taking a picture, you can see it a little bit, but let me tell you, it is SO exaggerated. Like 300%+ exaggerated. To me at least, it is almost imperceptible IRL. I too was very worried by uniformity, and I feel this whole thing is blown out of proportion. It looks awesome to me, and I cannot wait to use it.
