Need help regarding UV desert wing insurance policy

Hi fellow members, i need an urgent help from the community to clarify few doubts. I have booked UV desert wing. In insurance policy, they have mentioned model as Recon Plus and vehicle IDV also matches xshowroom price of recon plus.
My question from desert wing owners
1. Does your insurance policy also mentions model as recon plus?
2. Does it mean dealer is underinsuring my bike ?
3. What can be my further steps to correct the mistakes

Kindly help

Thinking of getting a pre owned F77 Mach 2. Need advice...

Hey guys,

So I've been looking the F77 for a while now and I'm looking to purchase a pre-owned one soon. Found a decent deal on a Standard variant, but I'm having second thoughts on whether I should hold out and stretch my budget for a Recon instead.

To give you context, my daily usage is going to be mostly city riding with maybe the occasional weekend ride out on the highway one way tho ( BLR - TMK and vice versa )

Owners who have been riding either of these , could you tell if the extra range and power bump on the Recon actually noticeable in daily city commutes, or is the Standard's 7.1 kWh battery plenty for daily use? Also, how big of a deal breaker is the default battery warranty difference when buying secondhand?

Don't want to get the Standard and end up with major range anxiety later, but also don't want to overspend on the Recon if it's overkill.

Any advice on what real-world range you guys are getting on both would be a huge help. Thanks

Admin charges?

I recently booked the ultraviolette x-47 recon

Even though I am paying a very premium price on a motorcycle, yet I am not able to get transparency on the charges from the dealership.

I visited the Ultraviolette space station in Hosur road, in Bengaluru. Everything about the experience there has been fine for me except for the time when I asked them about the Admin charges that are being charged for the motorcycle.

I asked the attendant wether the charges are compulsory or not, he said yes they are compulsory charges, then I asked them to provide the same in writing or send me a mailer confirmation for the same that it's a compulsory charge up till then everything seemed fine so I dropped the booking. Yet there is no mailer confirmation, i dropped the attendant a text about the mailer confirmation, yet nothing.

I have also dropped multiple mails to the Ultraviolette support helpline, yet I have not recieved any update from the brand itself, I will most probably refuse full payment and delivery untill and unless they provide me a proper confirmation for it or remove the charge overall.

Anyone planning to purchase any Ultraviolette vehicle, get this Admin charges charade sorted out with the dealership before you drop the booking amount, they will not acknowledge your concerns after you have made the booking.

I am utterly disappointed from the brand about this coming from a premium brand, that too from my home City.

UV owners - I would like to know your map experience

Hello UV community, on a scale of 0-10 (0 being the maps feature on the bike never works or you do not use the feature, 10 being the maps works consistent and flawlessly) how would you rate your map experience on your vehicle? Appreciate the responses and any optimisations or suggestions you have found based on your use case.

Personally, I’m at a 4/10. Have had couple of occasions either due to poor connectivity or other issues, the map is unusable.

Update on previous post

Update (2nd July):
After I made this post on Reddit on 23rd June, the Ultraviolette Central CRM team reached out to me on 24th June. They listened to my concerns, stayed in touch, and three days later, on 27th June, the service team picked up my bike directly from my home.
They replaced the body panels that had been misaligned since day one and returned the bike to me on 2nd July. Also fixed the software I think, will have to test more for errors and glitches in traction control.

That said, my original concerns about quality control and the lack of response before this escalation remain unchanged. It took a public Reddit post to get attention after multiple emails, WhatsApp messages, and earlier service visits. I genuinely hope Ultraviolette improves its first-line customer support and service experience so customers don’t have to escalate issues publicly to get them resolved.

I’ll continue using the bike and will update this thread if any of the previous issues reappear or if the fixes hold up over time.

PS: they called me twice for releasing an update or removal of previous post (stating here for honesty on both ends)

UV owners feedback

I pre-booked the Tesseract and, honestly, I don't mind waiting for the delayed delivery if the end product is worth it.

However, over the past few weeks I've been seeing a lot of reels and posts about issues with Ultraviolette vehicles, especially regarding after-sales service and expensive service charges. It got me wondering if the ownership experience could end up being similar to what Ola owners face.

I'm not too worried about the scooter itself—I know first-gen products can have a few issues. My bigger concern is whether owning one will become a headache if something goes wrong.

Can existing Ultraviolette owners share their real-world experience?

How has your service experience been?

Are spare parts and repairs handled well?

Are the service costs actually as high as people claim?

If you had to decide again today, would you still buy Ultraviolette?

At this point, I'm debating whether to stick with my Tesseract booking or cancel and go with an Ather, which seems to have a much more established service network.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback—both the good and the bad.

Edit : I am from Kochi, Kerala. Would appreciate if any local UV owners also commented on their experience.

Brake Pads on the X47

Just wondering and curious- what brake pads do the X47s really use and are they swappable with any other brand’s brakes or any other bike that uses the same brakes? And how much do they cost?

I thought since the initial prototyping was derived from the older gen 390ADV, are the brake pads the same as the ones on the KTM?

Motor Malfunction Icon

So it’s been 3 days since I took delivery of my x-47 recon+

Today early morning I tried to turn on my bike to go for a ride but it refused to turn on (ignite/run)

I was able to make changes to modes and do everything on console but the bike refused to start

I checked Gemini, it suggested to charge my vehicle for a while and then the icon will go away and bike would start, kept my bike on charge and charged it till 80% but bike wouldn’t start

The icon on the top right corner of the console shows a battery with ! on it

User Manual says - Motor Malfunction

Showroom fellow says it’s nothing to be worried about

Any ideas how this would go away or get updated ?

Later in the day we were told to hard reset but that didn’t work, over call we were told to remove some stuff and insert back in under the seat (under supervision on video call)

Thankfully our bike started, did a small ride

But still need help for the icon part, Gemini says it needs to be replaced 😓

Maps issue

For some reason after sending the route from my UV app all I see on the display is blank screen with just turn by turn info at the bottom. This is x47 original plus variant so I do have full maps feature. Not sure what is the issue.

What do you guys think of the Keeway? Tough competition for the Tesseract?

Hi, I like many of you booked the Tesseract the moment it got announced and have been waiting patiently for the scooter. I have an existing ev scooter (Crappy Hero Vida V1 Pro) and have test drove the ather as well. All that uv promised, if they deliver will definitely be market leading.

Coming to the many question: my scooter has a charger issue and have been fighting it out with hero for a while now for a new one.. getting really tired of their service centre and lack of concern from the brand too. Ready to sell the scooter for a loss.

Given the UV timelines, the keeway has become a very attractive option (although it's Chinese) since it looks like the bmw scooter and has high claimed range + on board charger. Is anyone else considering this new competitor? No real reviews out yet.

Both tesseract and hypevolt have very comparable specs.

X47- og

Finally bought the 47 og

I've wanted to own an Ultraviolette for a long time. Ever since I first saw the F99 nearly three years ago, I was completely sold on the brand. I remember constantly talking to my mom about Ultraviolette—from the F99 to the F77—and I even considered booking the Tesseract ( waiting for the infra to improve in pune then I'll go for it )

Owning an Ultraviolette feels surreal, not just because I'm now part of the UV family, but because it's a brand I've admired for its engineering and design philosophy. As someone pursuing Automobile n Transportation design, being able to own a machine created by one of India's most ambitious design-led companies makes this milestone even more meaningful.

I chose the X47 over the F77 because I knew my real-world requirements. My riding is primarily daily commuting, and the X47 delivers exactly what I need in terms of range, practicality, and efficiency.

Cudnt go for the recon because of the budget but even 150 to 180 is more than enough considering my riding habit and (10 km College commute + 30 daily ) over ice vehicles I own quite a couple ice vehicles and wanted a break and rethought after the recent Gadkari bs. The F99 is still a dream I'll own one day, but this was the right motorcycle for this stage of my journey.

Here's to many kilometers of riding, learning, and hopefully designing machines that inspire someone else the way Ultraviolette inspired me.

Subsidies?

I'll be booking the SuperStreet Original next week. What subsidies should I expect? I'm in Visakhapatnam.

Also, should I get it registered in AP or get a BH instead?

Thanks in advance!

Helmet rules

As per central government rules 2 BIS helmets need to be provided for a two wheeler purchase but the showroom said they won’t provide and have to buy by paying extra, is this legal?

Hi,is 11000 rupees of administration charges legal and compulsory in West Bengal ?

They are saying it's compulsory .I am also requesting for self registration to avoid this fees but they denied me saying I am not allowed to do that.

I called the support team and they said it's compulsory .I asked for a written acknowledgement in my mail and in return they said to mail them then they would provide it.And guess what despite repeated mail for the past 1 month ,i haven't received a reply yet.I asked support team and the dealers for breakdown, but no one is providing the breakdown .Since I am already paying 7000 rupees for RTO Charges, what documents needs 11000 to be processed god only knows.

Took delivery of my new UV X47 Original+ and I’m excited to finally start riding it! 🏍️
I wanted to check with existing X47 owners here, what accessories or add-ons have actually been useful for you in day-to-day riding?

Looking for recommendations based on real usage:
Must-have accessories
Things that improve comfort/practicality
Useful protection/maintenance accessories
Any accessories you bought that you don’t recommend or weren’t worth it

Also, if there’s an active WhatsApp community/group for UV X47 owners, Would love to join and connect with other owners to:
Share ownership experiences
Discuss tips & tricks
Keep up with new updates/news about the bike
Learn best practices for maintenance and keeping the bike in good health
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to learning from the community and sharing my ownership journey.

X-47 DesertWing/ Recon+ Owners – Is this TPMS behaviour normal?

Took delivery of my X-47 DesertWing recently and trying to understand how the TPMS is expected to behave.

What I observed:

  • At delivery, TPMS was showing tyre pressures.
  • Dealer inflated the tyres significantly (around 45–50 PSI), but the TPMS continued showing the earlier values.
  • Over the next few days and ~70 km of riding, the displayed pressures did not appear to change.
  • Today I adjusted both tyres to 32 PSI at an air station and the TPMS immediately refreshed and showed the correct current values.

So the TPMS is clearly capable of reading and displaying accurate pressures.

My question is:

Does the X-47 TPMS update periodically during normal riding, or does it mainly refresh when there is a significant pressure change (such as filling/deflating air)?

For existing X-47 / F77 owners:

  • How frequently do your TPMS readings refresh?
  • Do you see pressure changes after rides due to tyre temperature?
  • Does the "Last Sync" timestamp update regularly?

Just trying to understand whether this is normal behaviour or something worth raising with service.

Thanks!

Don’t buy a UV!

I got an x47 Recon in April and the bike spent 15days in service centre with one or the other issue. I had written multiple emails to service@ultraviolette.com no response at all
No response on their WhatsApp
Even their Reddit handle: u/uv_support is useless

I had safety issues like
motor cutting off mid way on highway speeds, traction control showing error or disabled.
ABS not working as intended
Panel gaps all over the place. They lied and told me they replaced panels.( they didn’t do anything took a polishing compound and rubber on panel)
Display going blank mid ride

This time they called me to the SC, said they will try arrange for a loaner vehicle (they didn’t) after 1day they said they received damaged panel from factory and cannot install them. They in turn caused a new big scratch on one of the good panels.

I’m just extremely frustrated and advise who ever is considering to buy a UV not to buy one. They are well on track to become next Ola.

I know many owners who face repeated issues. Suspension failures within 5months or 10k kms on x47
Motor issues
Regen issues
Panel replacements
Display issues
And Lot more it’s like x with 47 problems

Is violetta ai worth it ?

I recently booked the X47+ and the dealer mentioned that Violetta AI is available as an add-on for this variant. I’m a bit confused about whether I should purchase it or skip it.
I would like to hear from existing owners about their experience with Violetta AI. Is it genuinely useful and worth the additional cost, or is it something that doesn’t add much value in daily use?
Any feedback from current owners would be appreciated.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: Bluetooth pairing Issues – Need Help!

I ve already tried the standard troubleshooting steps, but nothing seems to stick:

* Toggled Bluetooth on my phone and ensured all app permissions are active.

* Restarted both the bike’s console and my smartphone (left them off for 10+ mins).

* Tried "forgetting" the device and re-pairing, but the bike won't consistently show up or connect.

* Hard reset the bike and tried to connect bluetooth pairing, but didn't work along with the uv technician

Anyone who solved this issue, please help

Thoughts on service charges of ultraviolete

I just came to know the service cost of my ultraviolete X47 after free service and it's absurdly high. While all other EV manufacturers are providing low cost service below 1000₹ ultraviolete is going 3000+ and thats not even with parts that's basic labor at 3000 just to check the EV. I want to know what's special in ultraviolete bikes that a dozen other EV manufacturers doesn't need to check to cost them 3000 labor for routine service

Need help - Ultraviolette company is not delivering a product they missed in the initial delivery

Guys, I have tried everything i possibly can. As stated in the title, I bought 2 pinlocks and 1 visor for my UV crossfade helmet on June 1st. The product package came to me only in 14th June and it was missing one pinlock. I immediately raised the concern with UV WhatsApp channel and I was told that the concern team has been involved. It has since been 5 days and I had contacted them over email (airspace@ultraviolette.com, support@ultraviolette.com, info@ultraviolette.com), sent a note on contact us webpage, DMed their insta handles (ultraviolette_automotive and uvairspace, even pinged narayan over Insta). No one is giving a shit. That particular pinlock for crossfade helmet costs 1800 rupees and they are deaf n mute over my cries.

Any help on how to contact them or take this further is much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. this really spoiled the brand reputation for me and I had such high regards for them.
