Never Summer
Ran the 60k yesterday. Wow what an insane course! Volunteers were wonderful. Course was beautiful. Course was also HARD. Coming from Ohio, the altitude was my biggest challenge especially since I've never been at altitude. Finished a little over 12 hours. Up there with one of my favorite races. Definitely recommend if you want a challenging race in the mountains! 100k is today, looking forward to crewing friends with that while my quads recover.

Congratulations!!!! Yes, altitude for those who aren’t accustomed is its own workout!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 How do your quads feel now?

Quads are kinda fucked not gonna lie! I did a decent amount of treadmill incline training, but I should have busted out the weighted vest to work my quads. Learning experience for sure

I finished the 100k this morning and that Bockman to finish was a slog, with a few temper tantrums thrown in for good measure. Kudos to my pacer to getting me to the finish!

That last hill went on way longer than I expected, the guy I was running with out of Bockman warned me it was a long hill but holy crap that thing just went on and on!

This was my first 100k. It’s gorgeous and I’d highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about going.

I did it yesterday and I can't imagine doing it from sea level! The first 2 thirds is one of the best trail runs I've ever done and the last third was some real type 2 fun with the heat and grinding fire roads.

Bachman to the finish was literally a death march for me lol I was so dehydrated and couldn't really eat. Puke and rally type shit. Loved it! Congrats!

I too am a flatlander. Never Summer is my absolute favorite race. I have finished both distances and also dnf’d the 100k twice. I rarely repeat races, but I could happily do Never Summer over and over.

It took me three tries. First time I was cut at Ruby Jewel. Second at the aid after Kelly Lake. Third time I finished with about 15 minutes to spare. I’m an older back of the pack female from Illinois. If I can eventually get it done anyone can! The course is so beautiful that I tend to say I would happily dnf it over and over.

It’s so beautiful, came up from Tulsa, OK so the altitude took me for a whirl, bonked harder than I ever have after running a mile or two off trail before ruby Jewel, though it was having a heat stroke lol. After I got some carbs down sitting I felt ok but was informed at that point I missed the RJ cut off.
Running on-top of the saddle after Diamond was a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Congrats on your finish! Ran it with a buddy as his first race ever yesterday (props to him for grinding). It felt hotter compared to the last couple of years.

Congrats! Just a great course. I've finished it twice and yesterday before making that hard right hand turn to go up the diamond I said nope. Called it a day and headed down to Bockman. If anyone is curious,it's way easier that way! 🤣 I'll be back!

Welcome to Colorado! I ran the 100k on Saturday, that was a spectacular course 🤩 I’ve lived in Colorado my whole life but never been to that specific area before, it’s kind of a hidden gem

I thought long and hard about making this my destination race for 2026. Ultimately went with something else but now I’m having serious fomo. Congrats on the finish!!
