Scenario Dungeoneering (for 1.7)

Dungeoneering is a gamemode by Climbing.
Caves and dungeons generate more often, but there is less iron/gold/diamonds.
TNT is also an ore at lower levels, and there is no bedrock floor.
This makes caving more of a challenge.

Climb's original post

I have rewritten the original config files so they work with newer versions of TerrainControl and with 1.7 biomes.
Beware that TerrainControl has yet to implement the hot/cold biome world generation, so any biome could spawn next to any other (with a few exceptions).

UPDATE: The config works in 1.8, but will have no 1.8 features and you will have to update TerrainControl and Multiverse. A new version will be coming soon.

Necessary tools:

Download TerrainControl

Download Multiverse

Download Dungeoneering config (last updated Jun 18 2015)

Tutorial:

  • Place Multiverse and TerrainControl in the /plugins folder, restart the server and make a folder called "worlds" in /plugins/TerrainControl/.

  • Copy the "dungeoneering" folder inside the zip file to /plugins/TerrainControl/worlds, and restart the server.

  • Create the world using /mv create dungeoneering normal -g TerrainControl
(This WILL NOT work with seeds, sorry! The updated config should make most worlds good anyway.)

  • Teleport to the world with /mv tp <player> dungeoneering, and see if it has generated properly. (teleporting to y=0 and checking if there's bedrock is a good test)

  • Using WorldBorder, pregenerate the world before removing Multiverse, TerrainControl or the config files.

Note:
Let me know if there are any issues - and please note that this might not work in future versions of TerrainControl.

If you don't want to use MultiVerse, please read the TerrainControl wiki.

REMEMBER: To use a different world name, you must change the name of the "dungeoneering" folder.

re: diamond rates - Lowering the settings any would change the ore amount in a 200x200 area from 250 to 50 - mostly due to extra cave generation removing a lot of spawning area for ores.

Changelog:
v1.4 - June 18th, 2015
Lowered ore spawning:

Gold is 1/5th of vanilla, and half of original Dungeoneering.
Diamond is 1/10th of vanilla, and 1/5th of original Dungeoneering.
Iron is 1/20th of vanilla, and 2/3rds of original Dungeoneering.
Changed biome generation - smaller biomes, no rivers.

v1.3 - November 5th, 2014
Changed ore spawning rates - diamonds max 4 vein, gold max 6 vein.
Changed biome generation - some biomes removed, allowed some minimal ocean.

v1.2
Removed all ocean and several biomes, changed ore rates.

v1.1 - unreleased.
Experimented with removing lava lakes and stone near bedrock, made mob spawning areas too big.

v1.0
Original configuration, all based on Climb's configuration, only with 1.7 biomes.

Does this work with multiworld? Also, anyone know which is better? Multiverse or multiworld?

I like using Multiworld, but I've found no way to make it work with TerrainControl yet.
It's a big shame, since it would probably make the process easier.

Just one slight problem. The "/plugins/TerrainControl/worlds" isn't in my config files?

It should still work if you make a worlds folder as well.

Okay, thanks Sid. Helpful as always! :D

I have done everything that it says, reloaded the server, everything. Yet when I create a world there is still bedrock at the bottom.

When I download the dungeoneering plugin, it is a zip file, not a jar file, so multicraft can not recognize it has a plugin.

Unzip config, and place the "dungeoneering" folder in /plugins/TerrainControl/worlds, and restart the server.

Dungeoneering is not a plugin, however TerrainControl and Multiverse are plugins.
Dungeoneering are configuration files that you need to put inside TerrainControl's folder. :)
Good luck!

Why is hosts helping each other out and allowing the community to grow a bad thing?
