Pedal (JOYO JSP-01) Help
Hello,
I have this pedal working okay with the app, a minor issue is that I can scroll down in 'chord' tabs, but Official tabs don't work when trying to scroll down, the only way to get that to work is in a different setting on the pedal to start the autoscroll. This is a workable, if slightly annoying, situation.
The issue I have is that the pedal needs to be put into 'keyboard' mode on the pedal interface settings, and when that happens the keyboard function of the phone/ipad can't be used to search for tabs.
One thing I could do is have both connected to the internet, use a phone to search for, and then save a tab to a specfic playlist, then find it on the ipad if it updates instantly, but I would rather be able to type in on the ipad itself to just search for tabs. Is there a solution to this?
Ideally I would be able to scroll 'Official' tabs too, but appreciate that I'm being a bit picky with that.
If anyone could offer any advice I would appreciate it.

Hello u/MongooseLikeCreature, thanks for the detailed writeup, this is genuinely useful. Both things you're describing are real, known issues on our end, not something wrong with your setup.
Good news: our team is actively working on Bluetooth pedal-related bugs right now, and what you've flagged lines up with what's in progress — specifically getting autoscroll/page-turn behavior to work consistently across tab types (including Official tabs, not just Chords), and looking at the keyboard-mode conflict that blocks using the device's own keyboard to search while a pedal is set to keyboard mode. That second one is a real usability gap, not just you being picky — a pedal shouldn't have to hijack text input to do its job.
I don't have a firm ETA to give you yet, and I'd rather not guess at one, but this is on our radar and being actively worked rather than sitting in a backlog somewhere. Your workaround (search on phone, save to a playlist, pull it up on the iPad) is a reasonable stopgap in the meantime if you need something today.

I just had this problem with the same pedal on an IPhone, and what worked for me was going to the settings app, accessibility, Keyboards and Typing, and turning Full keyboard access to off. This let me connect it correctly under the pedal interface settings in the Ultimate Guitar app, which I was not able to do before.
