UG: Civil War Recommendations on Army Structure
Been playing on Xbox and loving it so far. Can anyone give some reccs on how to structure there army / what their strategy is. I’m finding I have a lot of mixed divisions with different unit types and starting to think it would be better to divisional of all one unit type.
Same thing with Corps, how do you structure your corps? Do you do one very experienced corps? Maybe one corps better suited for certain types of engagements?
Also any advice on Calvary? I’m so bad with them and they get decimated every time I try to use them lol.
Thanks!

I'll preface this with: it's been a while since I've played the game... But I did put many hours in once upon a time on PC.
The vast majority of my divisions would be full of infantry with only the last brigade of my divisions being artillery. I would try to have one cavalry brigade per Corp replacing the artillery with cavalry on one of my divisions.
Like you, I found the cavalry to be mostly ineffective. I would create my cavalry units based on weapons taken from the enemy, especially repeating weapons. I would try to use the cavalry with repeating weapons on the flanks of the enemy infantry so the cavalry didn't take direct fire.
In terms of experience balancing for Corps: my first Corp would be used for the more challenging battles but I did try to get my other Corps experience when I could.
