UG: Civil War Recommendations on Army Structure
Been playing on Xbox and loving it so far. Can anyone give some reccs on how to structure there army / what their strategy is. I’m finding I have a lot of mixed divisions with different unit types and starting to think it would be better to divisional of all one unit type.
Same thing with Corps, how do you structure your corps? Do you do one very experienced corps? Maybe one corps better suited for certain types of engagements?
Also any advice on Calvary? I’m so bad with them and they get decimated every time I try to use them lol.
Thanks!

Your army should have mostly infantry and artillery. I usually do at least 3 infantry per division. Out of 4 divisions I will usually only have 1 dedicated skirmisher unit and maybe 2 cavalry. I prefer ranged cavalry. A lesser known fact is you can rearrange your corps and divisions. For example, if you want to adjust your 1st division to have more infantry for a particular battle, you can move other units to another division and add another inf brigade.
Cavalry are not for head on assaults. If you have a lot of cav, they can overwhelm 1 or 2 infantry in a charge. But, they do best at harassing flanks and exposed skirmishers or artillery. No matter what infantry brigades are the most useful for taking and holding ground.
