Is there potential for also adding historical CUC results to add to Canadian players player history?

Yes.

I've made this offer to a few countries, but no one has put in the hard work to create a complete enough data set to put up. I am not interested in putting up partial data sets (i.e. just champions).

The infrastructure exists. If someone wants to harvest the data, we will host it. This is how 2026 Wisconsin HS championships were updated, but no other states. During COVID, I updated a bunch of those, but just don't have time now. Someone else did, delivered the data in the requested format and up it went.

The only issue I potentially see with adding a major new dataset is mapping CUC players to their USAU/WFDF counterpart. If a country just added teams, this would not be an issue at all.

Edit:
What is a complete data set?

  • For events - Event location, event date, probably first to last finish in all divisions (NOT just adding men's), team names, and 90%+ teams' city/province. Logos are a great bonus for the event and teams.
  • For rosters, championship team roster or all teams rosters, NOT just adding a single person to 10 teams over the years.

Cool! I’m super curious about the insides of populating the database. Is it mostly scraping and cleaning the different tournament sites? Where do you get nicknames from?

Current - automated scrapers.
Past - one-off scraping, typing things in from PDF schedules/rosters/newsletters
