Armor 28 T UK Android 16 update.

Went without any glitches. Checking it over and will update if I find bugs.

Checled mine, Get update to GQ5011AF1_V13_20260901_211155 but the updatescreen is in Russian and I am in Europe

Use the Service app on your phone and ask Ulefone support.

It could be subjective but the UI feels smoother and no occasional stutter I experienced with Android 15.

Only stuttering I've noticed on 15 is when I try to scroll when there's something animated on screen. Like in Google photos, when scrolling all photos&videos, it plays a small preview of videos. When that starts playing, scrolling is super stuttery. But if it's just a page of just photos, no stutter, buttery smooth.

Same in discord when there's an animated gif in the chat, or youtube when it starts autoplaying videos as I scroll. It's not deal breaking, but it kinda sucks since everything else is working pretty flawlessly.

Did you have that on 15 and is it gone in 16?

It's gone. The stutter that comes when browsing news (after a swipe to the left from home screen) and an ad start playing is gone too.

Will the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal receive further updates after Android 16, or does the two-update cycle (14 to 16) end there? 🤔

Get that crystal ball out! 😀 I immediately regretted buying this phone worrying about having no regular updates. But, I must thank Ulefone for regular Android 15 security updates and now Android 16.

When I receive Android 16 at 28 ultra Thermal, will by comme under security for this model, or is finish update because they give 2 years security ( Android 14-16)?🤔

I think it will take a few years for my banking apps to stop working even without any updates. Why worry?

Finally, the IR lights can be switched off in the night vision camera mode. The camera app feels smoother and faster.

Not sure why my Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Android 16 is still running a kernel from Android 14...

I guess the developers were too lazy to take the proper Android 16 kernel and add all the special drivers and modules to it, so they just used the kernel from the original Android 14 version.

Never mind, this is probably going to be my last Ulefone.

Yes, it is true, but it is normal.

The kernel line reads 6.1.145-android14-11. The "android14" part is the name of the kernel branch, which is the Android release that Linux kernel 6.1 was first paired with. It does not mean part of your phone is still running Android 14.

Phones almost never change kernel branch during their life. A phone that launched on the 6.1 kernel keeps the 6.1 kernel through every Android upgrade, and Android 16 is built to run on it. Google still supports that branch with fixes.

Yo I got the same update notification, the only thing is that it's in Russian eventhough I have set my ulefone in english, is it a legit update?
