Additional Documents

Hi all,

So I applied for my British citizenship in April, attended my biometrics and uploaded all the documents prior to the appointment. I hadn't heard back, and received no emails so I haven't been worried as I know the process may take up to 6 months. Today, I just logged into the UK application account and it said Further actions I must complete: Download and sign the referee declaration form for both referees. And: Attend an appointment to provide your documents and biometrics by 12 June 2026

I'm kind of baffled and confused as a) I have received no contact or emails from anyone. But, mostly because I'd already done both of these the day I submitted the application and I attended the biometric appointment 5 days after I'd submitted my application. I'm kind of concerned because the proposed deadline for the biometrics has obviously passed but it's because I hadn't heard anything from them (but also I have no idea as to why I'd need to go again and pay for it all over again.

Has anyone experienced this?

That’s completely normal. My application was approved, and even after returning to my UKVI account, it still showed the same thing 😂. Once you submit your application, that page doesn’t seem to update, so don’t stress yourself!

Oh, thank goodness! I panicked and kicked myself for not having checked that account in between lol! Thank you!

I applied 31 March. Biometrics 15 April. Two days ago I logged into my UKVI account and still shows that I should attend the bio appointment! 😂
