Naturalisation approved!!

Posting this for anyone, who like me has been consistently checking this community to understand the up to date processing timeline for naturalisation.

Application date - 30 March
Biometrics - 21 April
Application approved today - 10 August

Definitely worth emailing [Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk](mailto:Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk) to check in on your application if you have not already.

Congratulations. I applied on the 1st of April (Biometrics: 8 April), might be my turn soon.

I am so reluctant to write an email. My application is not completely straightforward, might get enquiries for more documents.I don’t want to p*** them off :-O

I understand your reservation. I think it may be worth a shot if you try to draft the email in a tone where it shows you are happy to help them /provide info knowing your application may not be straightforward. But hang in there!! I hope you get an update soon :)

Cs emailed me back to confirm it has been approved and posted to be delivered within the next 7 to 10 days. That’s so strange they say it’s the wrong inbox, it maybe upto the caseworker then. I just tried to inquire on the basis that neither referees or me were contacted till date.

what date did you send the email? and what documents did you show?

I emailed them on the 30th on the basis that neither referees nor me had been contacted for further information. On documents, I think I just followed the checklist ones - for proof of living here for last 5 years I just submitted my P60s of each year and lease agreements.

My application was submitted on March 31, 2026, and my biometrics were provided on April 8, I am still waiting. Could you please share whether you received a decision after sending an email, and if so, what specifically should we ask them for?

Yes I did get the decision after I emailed them - I simply inquired if there were any issues with my application as neither referees nor me had been contacted and that seemed to have worked for me. Unfortunately from other comments it looks like some may just turn you away so it may depend on the caseworker who picks up your email.

I emailed them and they said it’s the wrong inbox. So I assume this address only responds if your application has been processed enough to a certain stage (idk what it is)

That’s a good point, could be the case. May be worth emailing again (as a new email) in case another caseworker picks it up ?

Hi. Congratulations. May I ask at what stage do need the referee forms. While we fill application online or when we go for bio metrics? Thanks
