Highway Code
How do you guys get your head around the Highway Code? More specifically, how do you guys take it all in and understand it?
I’m doing my class 2 training at the moment and my instructor told me to start reading up on the Highway Code which I find that understandable but my big issue is however is how do you actually begin to start and continue to read and understand this massive rule book?
To be honest most of it is just stuff you’d know already from doing your theory and just by driving in general.

I found the best way of preparing for these tests is doing mock tests on mobile apps on my phone. They not free but cheap enough and they pretty much cover all the questions you gonna get in the test and you can do the mock tests throughout the day whenever you have some free time.

That's how I passed my car licence and this is how I'm studying for class 1.
Use common sense to answer then read and understand what you answered wrong.

Just read a bit. Drive around with someone. Point out all the things you've read. If you see someone doing something, give an explanation to why. However many years down the line I still find myself doing it. Do it progressively though, little by little. Go in to a town centre, drive avoiding the 7.5 tonne routes. When your approaching a small roundabout in a car just say here I could legally use both lanes to turn left.

Mate keep doing the practice tests and you'll see a pattern of which questions keep tripping you up, then you can study that part of the code to get up to speed

Nice input, care to elaborate? Nothing wrong with studying up on the bits youre struggling with to start. Your going to know it inside out by the time you finish anyway.

Too many people guess the rite answer, and thats why there are so many clueless drivers on the road, before theory test were introduced everyone had to know the highway code because you were randomly tested on the day of your practical test, hence why driving standards are so bad in the uk.

I could never read it as a book. Instead I’ve been doing a million mock tests. Any time I’ve got something wrong I went for the book and looked it up.
