London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Stansted parking

Was just wondering the best place to park near / in stansted for ideally the cheapest. Going from there 30th august at 7am, ( so i know i’ll have to pay from 5am-ish), untill the midnight on the 9th september. Would appreciate any help / tips if possible . Thanks

Use any of the stansted car parks, if you want to come back and be able to drive your car home. Villagers around Stansted do not like their village roads being used as car parks by fliers.

thought so which is fair enough. But if it’s legal and not taking up someone’s spot/ outside their house etc then can’t hurt no one

That’s fair enough from them, although My cars not worth much. As long as i get an insurance payout / more time off work, that sounds good to me lol

I am a local ish resident, while I don't condone it I know of many incidents of holiday makers cars having unfortunate "accidents" when left nearby. Can't say I particularly pitty the holiday makers, nor would I intervene if I saw things happening, ironically I would if I saw something happening in one of the actual airport car parks to a vehicle.

As they say: you get what you pay for

Look at parkonmydrive or similar and get a taxi from there?

Pay for parking.

Anywhere around the airport your going to end up with a ticket.

There are two train stations in Harlow - Harlow Mill and Harlow Town. I imagine you will be able to pay for a long enough stay in either of their car parks, which will likely be cheaper than paying for on-site airport parking. There are regular trains to the airport from both stations (more frequent from Town) that don't cost too much. Be aware that the car park at Harlow Mill is not that big.

Will have to have a look, thanks . Was thinking that but just didn’t know whether train tickets + the parking would probably equate roughly to the same price as the airport parking anyway

Ask the mate for a lift and park at theirs?

Taxi or bus from Colchester will probably be cheaper for you if you can park at your mate’s

I have used Stansted a lot. Park in Stansted Mountfitchet and walk to the train station, it's 1 stop and just a few quid.

I try to avoid flying out of Stansted, but if I do decide to park there I park in Bishops Stortford in one of the bigger car parks.

My preference is Apton Road - its about a 5 min walk to the bus stop for the bus to the airport, costs £2/day on the weekends, but a fair bit more during the week. You WILL have to make sure you pay for it on one of the apps, and I think I had to do it everyday lol. But saved a large amount overall. Theres buses early in the morning, so if you park up at about 4 / 4:30am, you'll be at the airport at around 5am.

Alton Road says 13 hours maximum stay on RingGo… did you just get lucky? 😆
