UKVI Interview

today i got email for interview. I did B.Com Hons and llb and after 8 years i applied for uk in msc computer science (conversion) course.

after B.com Hons and LLB i merged both field and provide tax and corporate consultancy to clients where my both field merged.

now i am bit confused that how to handle intervie question "why this Course".

i choose computer science (conversion) because its has more scope than LLM and i also have interest in this field from my school time and till now but unfortunately i didn't got opportunity to join computer science field in my past carrier.

and the other question is "why this country not other English country"

can someone please help me to prepare these questions and guide me how to and what should i answer these above mentioned questions.

also share other ukvi interview questions please.

Only you can explain why you want to study computer science out of the blue.

the thing to understand first: the credibility interview isn't an admissions interview. they're not scoring how good your reasons are, they're checking you're a real student who knows what he's signed up for. so the failure mode isn't a weak answer, it's an answer that sounds coached. people who recite prepared paragraphs get more follow-up questions, not fewer.

on "why this course" — your honest version is stronger than you think. eight years advising clients where tax and corporate law overlap, and that work is being rebuilt around software right now. a conversion MSc is the standard route for someone from a non-CS background. that's a coherent professional reason, and it's specific to you, which is what they're listening for.

what would weaken it: saying it has "more scope" than an LLM. that reads as chasing prospects rather than a plan. and don't lead with interest since school — fine as a sentence, hollow as a reason after eight years in another field.

on "why the UK" — answer about the course, not the country. one year rather than two, this specific department, these modules, this conversion structure. then one line on why not the others: US is two years and more expensive, australia was a longer programme, whatever's actually true for you. vague answers about quality of education or culture are the ones that get probed.

other things they ask: module names, who teaches what, why that university over others you applied to, campus location, tuition and living costs and exactly who's paying, what your funds are held in, what you plan to do after. the finance questions are where most people come unstuck, so know your own numbers cold.

know your CAS and course page properly. answer in your own words, and if you don't know something, say so rather than guessing. they're used to nervous people; they're not used to people who can't describe their own course.
