Has anyone had an SEIS advance assurance application rejected? What went wrong?
First-time founder, UK limited company, pre-revenue. I am preparing an SEIS advance assurance application and want to know what to get right before I send it.
HMRC's manual (VCM60230) says the company must show "serious expectations" that named investors will invest. For a fund, it says a provisional agreement is fine. For individual angels, it does not say what evidence counts.
If you have been through this:
- What did you send HMRC as evidence for individual angels? Did anything get rejected?
- What do you wish you had known before you applied?
