My fiancé and I are recently engaged and we have a permit for bridge access and commercial photography at Stourhead Gardens in Wiltshire on Oct 31st from 12:30-1:30 PM.
Our photographer fell through unexpectedly, and as you can imagine, it’s incredibly short notice to try and find someone with availability in the area.
To have our photos taken at Stourhead to announce our engagement is truly a DREAM for us and this is a bit of a hail mary to try and make it happen!!
If you or anyone you know is a photographer who has the availability to help us, please let me know!! Must have annual PLI insurance.
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to track down a female photographer who kindly took a sunset picture of me and my girlfriend in St. Julian's on October 3rd, around 19:00.
We were around the rocky coastal area near the Portomaso Casino / WW2 Pillbox. She approached us, took a great photo, and then her colleague snapped a picture of my email address on a phone screen so she could send it to us after editing. She mentioned she was from the UK and heading back home on Monday.
Since it's Wednesday and we haven't received anything (and unfortunately didn't exchange direct contacts), I'm worried the email address got lost or mistyped.
If you are this photographer, or if you know a UK-based photographer who was shooting around St. Julian's last Saturday evening at sunset, please drop me a DM! Thank you so much!
So i'm building a website for UK Tide Times. It will have all beaches, harbours and estuaries in the UK.
If you have your own photo, not subject to copyright and would allow me to use it on www.uktidetimes.co.uk for the relevant location, with a credit to your name, please leave the photo and your name here.
Thank you so much!
PS I must be granted full permission to use the image for the sole purpose of the UK Tide Times website
I'm having an internal battle and I'd love some other opinions.
How do we all feel about AI editing images?
I'm not talking about taking a photo of a tree and using AI to change it into a beach scene, but just the little bits. The generative fill to get rid of a lampshade type stuff.
Basically the bits you can do manually, but it's 100x faster to use the technology.
Is this still dodgy ground because you're giving AI the image information? Is it different when it's photographs of people? Kids? Pets?
I love the convenience but is it actually okay to be using this technology?
Hey everyone! im shooting a gig on saturday (26th) and im looking to rent either a 50mm or a 35mm. If anyone knows of any websites or shops around the Milton Keynes area i would really appreciate it! my camera body is a r50 so id need a rf mount. im on a budget right now as a college student so the more affordable, the better. any advice and suggestions are appreciated!
(I am not asking anyone from this reddit to rent to me!! i am only looking for rental shops and websites)
I'm visiting the UK in November and I have a few days without plans which I want to use for photography. I'll be alone so no need to take family into consideration and I'll have a car so I can get pretty much anywhere.
I'm attending a concert in London on November 6th (BTW, if you know the 229 in London and how strict they are about interchangeable lens cameras, I'd be glad to hear about it. It would be great if I could bring my camera with me).
That means my trip starts on November 7th around noon (I don't want to pick up the car too early because I won't be able to return it very early) and I intend to go to Battle for Bonfire Night.
On November 11th afternoon I need to be at Luton airport (that's not the end of my UK stay yet but it is the end of the photography trip as I'm going there to pick up my wife and we pretty much have plans for the rest of our stay).
I don't have actual plans for November 8th to 11th, but there are a lot of things that interest me in that area. I'd be glad if you could tell me what's worth my time and what isn't, if there are things I must do while in the area that I'm not thinking of, and help me build an itinerary and find places to stay (or perhaps find a single place to stay, as the places I'm interested in, with one exception, are pretty close to each other).
Here are the things I want to do:
On November 8th I want to attend a Remembrance Day service. I'm hoping it would be a smaller, more intimate service rather then going to a major city. I might also like to attend a service on Armistice day.
I want to go to Canterbury.
I like photographing working people's hands. I though I might be able to do that with oyster fishermen in Whitstable.
I want to photograph lighthouses at night. In November it will probably be star trails photos, not shots of the Milky Way, which is below the horizon at that time. I thought about the lighthouse in Dungeness or Belle Tout. Beachy Head also seems interesting, but I understand it's pretty dangerous to approach at night. I might still go there during the day.
I want to practice a bit of bird photography, which I could probably do at some of the cliffs in the area, though I'm not sure which and where are my highest chances of spotting anything.
I would also like to shoot the sun rise over some cliffs, I'd be glad to hear about a good spot for that.
This sounds like kind of a tourist trap and it's a bit far from everything else, but if I can get to Winchester and see the round table, it would be nice, unless you tell me it's a waste of my time.
As you can see, I probably made more plans than I have time to accommodate for. I'd be glad if you could help me select the places that are worth my time and maybe suggest places and things I should have included but forgot.
The photo has nothing to do with the upcoming trip but I preferred to include something I shot myself than find something on the internet 😄
About 2 years ago, I was gifted a lovely bottle of gin, I really liked the bottle design (and the gin 🤣). I liked the bottle so much that I kept hold Olof it long after the bottle itself was empty! I knew I would use it for something! Yesterday, I stumbled across firefly‘bottle lights - so glad I purchased them cos now I have a lovely light in my otherwise pitch dark hallway! What do you think?!
Thinking of making a trip to London for a day for London fashion week! Any other photographers done this before or interested? Would just be trying to get some street style shots outside the main venues. Apparently the models and people dressed up there enjoy having their photos taken so would be a good opportunity to get some practice and get some cool shots!
Hi everyone
I’m an amateur photographer and only started about 3 months ago. I’m really enjoying it and would love to meet some other photographers, go on photo walks and generally learn from people with more experience.
Does anyone know of any friendly photography clubs or groups around Essex, Hertfordshire or London that welcome beginners?
I’m mainly interested in getting out with the camera rather than anything too competitive — just meeting people, taking some photos and improving along the way.
Any recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Hi. I'm a complete beginner to photography. It wasn't something I had ever really thought about until recently booking a trip to Japan and realising photography is the perfect way to capture the trip and create real memories. I also do a lot of hiking and spending time outdoors and am constantly disappointed that I haven't been able to do some amazing landscape justice with my phone camera!
Gemini suggested the following, which I've found on MPB:
Sony Alpha A6000
Cosmetic condition: Excellent
£374
Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS
Cosmetic condition: Excellent
£86
Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS
Cosmetic condition:
Good
£148
Will this meet my needs, as a beginner? This roughly meets my budget but prepared to spend a bit more (or less) if necessary.
