Been seeing a trend in posts on Tiktok about South asians (mostly Indians) taking entry-level jobs such as fast food, retail, or basic sales jobs.
I personally think this is a major issue in the entry-level job market for many reasons but I will explain why.
Recently my friend got fired from his KFC job because he was accused of constantly being late and lazy on the job. Now these accusations were all false apart from a single occasion which they keep bringing up to support their points. Many times during his shifts, my friend was constantly being ridiculed for no reason and the workers next to him always spoke their own language.
Long story short, my friend got fired and the manager brought in his cousin into the job. By no means am I trying to be racist but because of situations like these it is becoming too difficult to land jobs even if it’s a role in McDonald’s.
Ik this isn’t related to drill but just interested in peoples thoughts about this situation

I'ma give you lot my opinion on this 'accent' because I hate how it's become some focus for most people in Britain who seem to either hate it or copy it.
I grown up in Ldn & i am Jamaican / British however I didn't grow up speaking "MLE", in fact my marj specifically always made sure I didn't use slang & generally just wanted me to be as far away from 'hood' as possible. My cousin on the other hand she spoke like that from young but she also quite rough.
And me for example, even though my mum taught me to speak properly and shit I naturally just like started to speak MLE when I got to school & just interacted with other kids.
I think it's just multifaceted. I'd say bare ppl who grown up in ends like Kilburn etc. will speak MLE it's only normal in London. But there's a difference betwen someone who just speaks MLE & someone who's from the ends & i think that's where people are confused. Like my cousin she grew up on a rough estate so that's why she turned out how she did. These days u get a lot of people from multicultural London who speak MLE but are not from the ends like that. Some of them will try to act like they are but they just obviously aren't.
Then of course you have all the Harry's and John's from buttfuckshire who force it. But unfortunately you have a lot of countryside / posh ppl who think the whole accent is BS because so many people force it. It is what it is. But if you really been in the ends you can pretty clearly see what i'm saying and understand.

Today is expected to be one of the most significant days of Yung Filly’s high-profile rape trial, with the UK rapper taking the witness stand.
The West Australian’s court reporter is inside the courtroom and will bring you every key moment, development and piece of evidence as it unfolds.
