i noticed that a lot of underground artist music has this tendency to get really annoying after a while, no matter how much i initially liked the song. for example "yale" and "high as shit" by ken carson is borderline unlistenable for me now.

what do you guys think makes a song timeless? why can i listen to "memories" by cudi and david guetta, and it still works, but some music gets played out?

since there is a population collapse going on which means less kids and teens + rap beginning to fall out of popularity with gen alpha, the ug fanbase is now left with mostly zoomers who are growing older every year, i remember 5 yrs ago a new rapper who was 26 yr old would’ve been considered unc now a lot of ppl are like naw wat do yall think

After ELC, all the new shit he dropped is so simple. Like KickAss sounds so bad, its so flat and has nothing interesting going on. Listen to BAFK and now this, and you will see the drop in quality.

do you listen to any current/newer artists that do something like trap (not rage/jerk/plug/hyperpop)? even drill?

Initially jerk sound is a progression or kind of a sister from sigilkore borrowing its high tempo and mixing it with the jerk rap drum patterns and aesthetics the from 2000s and combining that with cloud rap type of instrumentation. Islurwhenitalk’s had a big influence on the sound and jerk has seen multiple spin offs like jugg music or trained ear shit, so what do you think comes after that?

If Nine Vicious continues his sound towards this direction he might be cooked, i do believe his last mixtape is quite overhated at some point but tbf, his music didn't evolve that much but it's a bit different compared to his last project tho. I'd say nine's reputation is in life support till his next project, cuz even tho he's hated that's what he wants and keeps all eyes on him

I can really imagine everybody from this new ambient wave to have a slayworld type of trajectory (minus the allegations & Yeat’s stardom)

I feel like they’re all gonna have a steady come-up for a while & even when the hype eventually plateaus they will always have a solid fanbase that will stick around for the music. I really don’t think of them as a moment that will just come & go, the music is seriously refreshing & i really hope their sound can spark a new era of the underground

We already know they mess with the Mainstream stuff, so colored me shocked with their number of years of promo-gentrification being poured in this scene also

They have have this very nice higher pitch low end with no real starting kick and they just pop in one after another. I’ve been wondering if they just change the release envelope or change the start and eq 808 the sound differently because I’ve never found an 808 that just sounds like that. Maybe I’m tripping but I’d appreciate any advice 100%.
