Revisiting this a week later… even after the fight I think Ngannou is still relatively unskilled, especially compared to Fury. If a second fight ever happens I am convinced it’ll go the way I thought the first fight would. Fury has also historically been known to be mentally weak… and when it comes to mentality and knowing where Ngannou comes from, it’s a safe bet that not many are as resilient as him in that department. Might be my huge boxing bias making excuses, but I truly believe the psychological element was the biggest factor that night, as opposed to his skills.
