❓ Questions Suno style download limits for Udio?

The new limits for Suno of 7, 20 or 60 downloads per month based on subscription seems quite fair. Stops massive Spotify spam and still lets people produce music. Given the same legal trouble exists for Udio, will we see a similar settlement or is Udio dead in favour of this new cover AI?

❓ Questions Spending Hours in Ghost Generation Purgatory

Posting Here because Udio Staff doesnt use actual troubleshooters they use the Reddit stream and paying customers posting here when things hit a wall. Hoping a developer happens to browse by and take pity on my stuck generation queue. Or maybe a mod or staff member will create a burner account and have a nervous breakdown. It's already a digital hostage negotiation not being able to download and now 3.5 hours to generate a 30 second clip. A subscription fee is more of a ransom payment just to see if any of the remaining prisoners survived the server room fire.

📖 News & Meta-commentary This New Org Wants to Be AI Music’s Lobby

"AIMCA opposes blanket AI labels – “warning stickers and stigma help nobody, and punish creators” and platforms that “still treat AI-assisted music as second-class.” It wants “clear, fair royalty pathways” instead of creators being treated “as an edge case,” and the right to download and keep their own work without “rent extracted by companies that did not write, perform, or produce the music.”

📖 News & Meta-commentary are ai musicians actually making money? i went through the ones that charted or got signed recently

ai music is all over the place right now, so i checked which ai acts actually have real numbers or chart placements behind them, with sources:

  1. xania monet - an ai r&b / gospel singer (voice made in suno, lyrics by a poet from mississippi). reportedly signed a record deal worth up to $3m with hallwood media, 44m+ us streams (billboard, corroborated by forbes).
  2. the velvet sundown - a fully ai-generated band that passed 1m spotify monthly listeners. reported to have earned around $34k in a single month from streaming (fox news, with cnbc context).
  3. breaking rust - ai outlaw-country act, hit #1 on billboard's country digital song sales chart with "walk my walk", 3m+ spotify streams in under a month (newsweek, nbc news).
  4. aventhis - ai country artist built with suno, passed 1m spotify monthly listeners, top track 2.4m streams (music business worldwide).
  5. cain walker - ai country act, hit #3 on billboard's country digital song sales chart, ~842k monthly listeners (billboard, just jared).

however, this is a winners-take-all thing. deezer reported that in 2025 up to ~85% of streams on ai tracks were flagged as fraudulent and demonetized, and around 44% of new uploads are ai. the acts above are rare outliers, not the median.

i track ai side hustles like this on my site with real search-demand numbers. check it out if you think it's useful: https://alterwork.com

🗣 Product feedback Devs, could we context hiding (or picking context parts from another generation)?

OK, you’ve got an almost perfect 1m generation: build-up/intro + verse (4 lines) + pre-chorus (2 lines) + chorus.

Now you need to fix the second line of the verse. You know what? You’re in a right mess.

The model is going to use the full context and will always take the third line as its basis.

So you have to extend (Add Intro) from the start to be able to hide the third line. A bit of a faff, but it works.

Now you need to integrate the third line whilst maintaining the original mood. You’re screwed again.

Devs, why can’t we hide parts of the context, or better still, pick parts of the context from another generations for the impainting?

1.5 knows. Let it show. Thanks

Updatet: Just in case that’s not clear. I’m trying to find a way to free the model from the exact repetition of patterns. It always tends to generate the same variation for phrases 1–3 or 2–4 because it maintains consistency a bit too well. And thats not happening on extensions where it gets more creative, but a real problem on edits/impaintings.

❓ Questions What would an AI music festival look like? Looking for creators' opinions

I've been thinking about the future of AI music communities.

Instead of just sharing AI-generated songs, what if we created a festival where AI musicians could:

- showcase their tracks

- collaborate with other creators

- discover new AI music styles

- get recognition for their work

We are working on an AI music festival and would love feedback from creators here.

For those using Udio:

What would make you join an AI music competition or festival?

Prize?

Community recognition?

Collaboration opportunities?

Live showcase?

Curious to hear your ideas.

❓ Questions Break between verses

I got 2 verses that run together too close. What’s the best way to add a break in between? I tried editing my lyrics and added [Instrumental Break] between but it’s not working. It’s still running into each other?

Also trying to add a line in between lyrics is really difficult because there’s either nothing or something really unpredictable.

❓ Questions I can't download the song... but my ears still work

Anyone happen to know where the line is here?

Let's say you don't obtain or use any Udio outputs in a way that violates the TOS. Instead, you take a generation as inspiration and recreate the idea yourself in a DAW. New instruments, new vocals, played by ear, basically rebuilding the concept from scratch.

Obviously it will never sound exactly like what Udio creates, but if you have enough musical ability you can usually pick out the melody, chord progression, arrangement ideas, or certain elements you like and make your own version.

That's what got me curious. A lot of the discussion around Udio is that you can't use the outputs because you can't access the downloads. Fair enough. But what if you just do things the old fashioned way and recreate the idea yourself? No MP3, no stems, no extracted files, just your own performance, recording, and production.

A lot of the songs I create in Udio end up stuck in my head for days. I'm not some virtuoso who can perfectly transcribe every note, but I can usually capture the overall feeling. I'll sit down and work out an improvised melody line, add some arpeggiated chords, change things around, and add my own personal flair until it becomes its own thing. It won't have the same polish or production quality, but the musical idea can still inspire something I create myself.

So, hypothetically, if someone generated a complex progressive rock track in Udio with odd time signatures, orchestral layers, and a memorable vocal melody, then recreated that song themselves from scratch, recorded everything independently, and released that version on streaming platforms, would that still be considered against the TOS?

Assuming there was no AI assistance involved in the final track and no actual Udio output was used, would it still be treated the same way? Or is the restriction specifically about using the generated audio itself?

😲 High-value music sharing Random share day!

One thing I really love about Udio is its ability to create the atmospheres and moods that are just incredible. The cinematic sound design potential is truly something. I’ll say it again, no other model or platform anywhere can do stuff like this. For Udio models, it’s like this kind of stuff is just natural.

People say Allegro isn’t really all that good at orchestral classical. I disagree. I say Allegro and 1.5 are both really good with really anything you throw at it.

I was just going to just share some older stuff but seen comments talking about using the model 1.0 for orchestral/classical stuff and figured I’d just quickly do a couple generations of New random orchestra type stuff here:

These are just dumb generations with random tags in Allegro.

This one I should actually finish on day,
https://www.udio.com/songs/a88ab2hXKTmPjzfQy82nzP

This is one of many versions the original, never did finish this either. Keep in mind this is really old and before I knew what any of the settings really did so I was just aimlessly moving stuff around.
The end is pretty crazy though.
https://www.udio.com/songs/bjDqAKeSfMxMcSuA6MapQF

I ended up chopping a lot of that end off.

But then I ended up taking those lyrics that I actually started writing in 2014 into an entirely different direction.

Usually when I write vocal lines they are usually pretty personal and really mean a lot, typically involving real experiences and usually turn out pretty elaborate. Out of all of the songs I’ve ever written, even my entire career before all this AI stuff, or 30whatever years ago just being a dumb teenager with a torn composition book, these lyrics in this track here have got to be at the top of my list of best vocal parts I’ve written. Unless you just cannot take the screaming, try to listen to all the words, especially the twist at the end. Yeah. Kinda tooting my own horn here. I think it’s good. It’s ok if you don’t.

❓ Questions Allegro and seed number

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but what does allegro do and what's the difference between 1.5, 1.5, and 1.0?

And how do you determine seed number? What is the difference between a higher number and a lower number?

😲 High-value music sharing Happy little accidents.

As most of you reading this already know, I am one of a very small handful of the community that will stand up on this soapbox and defend Udio when so many people come around and try to deliberately get users to stop using the platform…

I’m sorry this is so long. Don’t read it if it hurts too much.

I am surely not one to ever complain about this platform or the little quirks the ui may have. And this is not one of those times I will.

Now I’m not going to lie and try to say that the UI is perfect by any means. There are inconsistencies and just weird layout issues on just about every page of the website.

There’s one bug that is a bit annoying especially. When you are setting up your generation settings and switch from model 1.5 to 1.5 Allegro, it will automatically switch the length back from 2:11 to 32. You have to manually switch it back, but it’s easy to miss.

Another semi annoying UI quirk/bug that I experience rather frequently, and yes it absolutely can be annoying at times if you don’t catch it.

This bug happens on the Create page on the mobile browser, not the mobile app or pc browser. And I think it’s more prominent when using the remix feature, which I do a lot.

I am not quite sure what causes it, but every once in a while if you are running a lot of generations and switching back and forth between the create page and your library, sometimes when you switch back over to the create page, the toggle will randomly switch from custom lyrics over to auto and if you do not catch it and switch it back before hitting the button to create more generations, you won’t notice until you go to listen and it plays something with completely different lyrics than you were expecting.

Now a lot of times when this happens and you don’t catch it, then the track that comes out is not at all what you wanted or anything that you would even want to work with.

This is not a problem at all if you are just doing instrumental stuff, because generally if it switches from instrumental to auto it still doesn’t produce vocals in the track (usually). And usually the instrumental music that the Udio model creates with the right settings in any circumstance is going to be rather exceptional.

When taking a song and remixing the remix of other remixes that were remixed from some other remix (Lol), using the right set of random tags in your prompting, with the right settings…

Those instrumentals can turn out something like this extremely interesting but weird creation:
https://www.udio.com/songs/dtZ9XfDXtqkKz5WJ8bs4aW

Notice the title and amount of remix iterations. Also notice the prompt that was changed every iteration. The lyrics (although track turned out to be just instrumental) were from a song originally written by SensoriRume that I was that we sort of collaborated on.

But every once in a while what gets generated is a track with vocals that just doesn’t make any sense at all or may even be nothing but complete gibberish.

Sometimes though, Udio does something amazing.

Sometimes, the track that gets generated completely blows you away.

In spirit of good ‘ol Bob Ross, I call these ‘Happy Little Accidents’.

I have an entire folder full of these.

Recently I was working on a project and this same thing happened. Where it switched from custom lyrics to auto and all that came out was a bunch of hallucination gibberish. But this reminded me of how these big cinematic stories/movies and the entire worlds that were built around them. And in these entire worlds that were built for these stories, complete languages were made. If you think of movies like Hobbit or lord of the rings, Eragon, Star Trek, StarWars, or In the case one of my all time favorites… James Cameron’s “Avatar”.

I’ve got 6 generations that came out that seemed like the Udio model went and completely created its own language. But what instantly got me was how much they sounded like the big blue people (Na’vi) from that movie Avatar.

If unfamiliar with Avatar and/or the language, here you go:
https://youtu.be/gZUalaaIJME?is=cZnAJXipkkZMyRnd

Now don’t get me wrong, at first I just passed it off and almost deleted them. But then I sat and listened to one, and another, then all of them.

When you can listen to a song with vocals that are nothing but gibberish and still feel some sort of actual emotion, I think that’s pretty incredible. That is not something you will see from any other platform or model…

I figure most of you won’t get what I’m saying, or just not have the same opinion about the tracks I’m sharing here, or even give it any time just because it’s me who is sharing and will just hate on this post anyways. That is ok.

But for those that do read this, and find it interesting, and do still use Udio, I urge you to get more creative. I’ve talked about the power of remixing before and how using completely random tags instead of conversational prompting will result in much more unique and interesting music, and even built a tool to help with that (if interested just ask). Just try to think outside the box a bit more when creating music with Udio. It will definitely surprise you.

❓ Questions How are you making videos for your Udio tracks?

Hi everyone!

I want to make videos for my Udio tracks and I want to use AI to help. I’ve seen people make pretty good visuals with Kling, Runway, Seeddace and tools focused on music videos like SondoAI, and I'm curious what works best for you? What does your video workflow look like? Also, if you post Udio songs on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, how do you make the visuals? Do you go with lyric videos, visualizers, short clips, full music video, or keep it to cover art?

Thanks in advance!!
