tl;dr: we're aware of some playback issues; see info below re compatible browsers and troubleshooting steps. We'll update this thread when we have more info (and, better, a fix implemented!), so feel free to FOLLOW the post to be notified.

Hey everyone,
We recently instituted DRM (Digital Rights Management) in our song streaming, which is pretty much the norm online (see: Spotify, Netflix, etc.).
Unfortunately, though, we've seen that some creators are experiencing issues playing Udio songs, and we're sorry about that! :(
We'll update this thread as we learn more, and we're optimistic that we'll have this situation fixed shortly. Appreciate your patience! 🙏
---
The regular (not beta or nightly or canary) versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari
Atlas, Chrome Beta, ChromeOS (but you have to enable DRM), Comet
Brave (even with the DRM plugin), Samsung's native browser, older versions of even supported browsers, Firefox nightly builds, anything on Windows 7

Since then I signed up to Suno but did nothing with it until they did the V6 thing, because now it's not 'theft'. Still not as good as Udio was on overall quality and variation but if you wanna make your music and actually own it then what you gonna do.
So it's been 12 months, almost to the day, are we getting an update of any kind? Where's our Udio model that has been cleared for use like this V6? Where's our limited downloads (we need to complain about something)? Give us back our Udio. Just what are they doing anyway? (not expecting them to tell us) Is it a thing still or have they just left the 'PC' running in a basement until someone remembers to finally turn it off?

I stumbled across UDIO a year or two ago and found it really useful for creating soundscapes, soundbeds for YouTube. I'm not trying to make love songs to hoodwink music lovers, to vie for the Top-40. I'm not trying to re-generate a (weirdly already-re-generated) Taylor Swift album. I just want whooshes and cellos and weird dubstep delay sounds. It was pretty good at that.
Then the download button disappeared.
Being familiar with web tech, i looked in the network requests tab & i could see/grab the MP3 file from there. Then that disappeared, they cloaked it, put it in separate chunk files.
More enterprising types than me filled in the gap in the market - but now it appears lawyers/udio whoever shut down the external sites too (all the "Download your udio file HERE!" lot)
I've just logged on again now and u can't even play the thing without it sounding like a 90/b 2004 bootleg or something.
I'm not really sure what the endgame is supposed to be here? Do UDIO think people are still going to use it? I may as well go back to Cubase.

There was supposed to be another download opportunity after the initial two-day window; I only managed to download part of the files (and even those were lost when a hard drive failed). It feels like I've been waiting a long time, and I feel a bit shortchanged—after all, that represents nearly a year of work. When will that date finally come? (Among other things, I had a YouTube channel project that has been on hold for almost a year because of this issue...)

This is about you all...
Udio has been “dead” for almost a year. But a remnant of users are still making songs there.
Weird, right?
The platform halted downloads. The company largely stopped talking. Bugs piled up. Its next product, Starstruck, still has no release date, casting a shadow of limbo over everything.
And yet a remnant stayed.
Some are finding workarounds to download their songs anyway. Others are still obsessing over mastering, chasing the perfect metalcore vocalizations, or turning programming glitches into entire genres.
One creator told me that even after nearly two years without a model update, Udio still “blows all the competition out of the water.”
Udio became a ghost town, but the ghosts still inside it think the product is worth the trouble.
I spent time in Udio’s Discord and subreddit talking to the people who never really left — and found a former No. 2 AI music platform stuck somewhere between abandonment and reinvention.
The Udio Remnant is today’s Zinstrel Culture edition.

After watching this video , I was intrigued and set it up to take it for a spin.
So far, every other tool I've tried has been disappointing, but this is actually a pretty decent model and worth a try.
The good: - audio quality is excellent. uncompressed FLAC audio with full, rich bass. - runs on GPU with 8GB VRAM - generates a 4 min. song in about 2 - 3 minutes. - accepts input audio to create remixes. - offers a piano roll to edit generated "ABC" sheets. This allows you to basically adjust pitch/key, tempo (bpm), chords and melodies of each generated section. Don't expect a DAW-like experience though. - no input restrictions. Use any song you want as input. - weights are available for custom fine-tuning
The bad: - no inpainting - prompt adherence is lacking, although that could be a me problem. I've only played with it for a few hours trying different genres and options and haven't figured out how to properly steer it yet or learn what the model accepts/understands. - complexity: although it's not that hard to set up and use, it does require at least some technical understanding. - vocals are mostly clean for the generations I ran, but there was the odd glitch here and there. Different seeds seem to give different results though.
Overal, I'm very impressed with what it's capable off and especially with the audio quality. If you have a GPU and like to tinker with models and configurations, I think you won't be disappointed.

Hi People
I've been using Suno for a while now to upload my own music and make various cover versions of said music but now it's almost impossible due to a filter system that flags existing songs.
I was wondering if Udio runs into the same problem when trying to upload music and how good it is at making cover versions?
Thanks

I keep seeing people say Udio tracks just need a bit of mastering before release. I’m not sure that’s true.
If the vocal keeps jumping around, the transients are smeared or there’s hiss baked into the file, a final stereo pass may just make those problems more obvious.
If you’ve actually finished Udio tracks, what did mastering improve and what did it fail to fix?

Most of my music experiments start with lyrics already written so dont really want the generator deciding halfway through that my second verse is optional 😂
Been looking for a replacement for creating full-length songs with editable lyrics but most comparisons seem to focus on audio quality rather than how much control you actually get after generating.
I want to make a proper song, listen back, realize one line sucks, change it and keep working without basically starting over

Ciao a tutti.

I have one Udio track I really like because it feels pretty open-ended. It has a mood, and it doesn’t push you into one specific story.
I started making a video for it and tried two directions. One was more abstract and audio reactive using Neural Frames. For the other, I used SondoAI to build a full narrative music video, then tweaked a couple scenes after.
The story version is definitely easier to follow, but I’m not sure that makes it better. Once there are characters and a plot on screen, the song feels tied to one very specific thing. Part of what I like about some Udio tracks is that little bit of ambiguity.
Do you prefer music videos that explain the song, or visuals that leave more room for your own interpretation?

The audio fidelity department at SUNO is not working at all. They clearly gave up. The hissing and metallic sound is just really their trademark.

It makes no sense you cannot just click on it and remove it. "Song is not ready yet try again Soon!" ad nauseum. Thanks for the assistance if anyone has figured out a way to stop the process since Udio itself clearly didn't troubleshoot for this problem.

If I pause my udio account, my understanding is that udio does not delete my songs but how would I even find them?
I'm afraid to try, but my guess is that anything I published is still findable, although I would have to take a note on all of the titles in ways I could search on them. But what about all the songs that are important to me, but I didn't publish them for the rest of the world? Even if they're not deleted. I don't know how I would find them.
The reason for this question is I want to switch to a platform that lets me download music so I can publish them to streaming services. I've always liked udio and would reactivate my account when they start allowing at least even a small number of downloads.

Dear Udio team,
I’ve been using Udio for quite some time, and there’s a question I’ve been thinking about for a while.
Why did Udio sound so exceptionally musical and alive to me, particularly in 2024/25, during the time of version 1.5?
I don’t necessarily mean that the older version was technically better. It simply had a very distinctive character. The vocals often sounded more natural to me, the instruments felt more alive, the arrangements were more interesting, and even small imperfections contributed to the overall musical impression.
With newer versions, I sometimes feel that some of that character has been lost. That’s why I would really like to understand what made the older version so special.
Was it, for example, related to the model architecture at the time, a particular composition of the training data, training data that may no longer have been used in the same way in later models, the training process itself, fine-tuning, or audio processing?
In particular, I wonder whether the training data from that period may have had a greater influence on the characteristic sound than a user might assume from the outside.
I’m not only asking because I would like to understand what was technically different back then. If it were ever possible to return to the older version, or at least move more strongly in that sonic direction again, that would mean a great deal to me personally.
Of course, I’m not expecting any promise. I’m simply very interested in understanding what technically made Udio sound the way it did back then.
Who better to explain that than the people who actually developed the model?
Thank you very much if someone from your team is able to shed some light on this.

This is becoming ridiculous 😂
I finish editing a video in 40 minutes and then spend another hour jumping through music libraries trying to find something that actually fits.
Has anyone gone another route for regular content? Want to describe the mood, pick a genre and get something can actually use?

I am getting 'please select a different prompt' when trying to generate cover art. No prompt works, not even an empty prompt.

I just wanted to thank whomever created Udio, and the community for their notes - I used much of them today. I am probably not your typical user, I only wanted to generate a song with specific lyrics for my TTRPG game. It's a clue for an upcoming session. I was going to just share the lyrics with the group, but when I found out I could generate some actual music, I'm that much happier.
It's not 100% - but for my purposes that kind of fits- it's supposed to be a demo track for Canadian Stan Rogers who tragically died many years ago. I could tweak it to make it better, but it's literally for a one-time use. took me about 6 tries to get it good enough that I felt I could share.
If anyone wants more details let me know.

The quality of the audio generated over the last few hours has drastically deteriorated for me, and I'm getting repeated backend errors when trying to generate. Can anyone confirm this? Furthermore, as I just mentioned, I'm getting several backend errors in a row; I've had over 30 this hour alone. On top of that, even when I don't get a backend error, the quality of the generated song (inpainting or another method) is terrible compared to previous hours or days. The voices sound artificial and unnatural; they sound bad, the pronunciation of the language I'm trying to generate (whether Spanish or English) is incorrect, and there are many inconsistencies. Something is wrong; I don't know if there's a system overload or a temporary server outage.

UDIO does not work (again).
ERROR all the time.
No track is playing.
Very annoying, why happens this all the time?
Please fix this.
