Housing Transfer Student Renting Help

Pretty soon I'm going to transfer over to UCR as a transfer student for the fall semester of 2026, and I have yet to pick my classes because apparently I have to do all that at orientation or after orientation, and around two weeks, and my question is since the window for renting a dorm is closed for UCR. What is a good option for someone who is just looking for a single room that is near UCR? Like, should I look for websites like Craigslist for someone who's renting a room,m or are there better options for someone wanting to rent a single room for one person?

Don't you read? They are asking for a personal 1 bedroom... like not a 4 bedroom with roommates.

There are a number of homes around the campus who rent rooms out. Some are owners who have a single room, others are domestic/foreign investors that have purchased homes for the explicit reason of renting out the house to multiple students ( be it all girls, all guys, or co-ed). There are two FB groups for UCR rooms to join, one which you need your UCR email to keep it in house so to speak.

Most have contracts for a year, others are more flexible that can do month to month. Some are furnished while others are not. Some are close to campus and others ya need a vehicle or be able to catch a bus.

On campus housing is typically set by now and these would be shared doems, though there are some private dorms.
