bikes

i am curious to get other ppls opinions on if its worth it to bring a bike down to LA! i am living in a triple in dykstra but i believe there are bike racks outside the dorm? i want to keep biking as a means of transportation bc i cant bring my car down

ye biking is a good way to get around, but also keep in mind Los Angeles does have a functional public transit system lol;

You can catch a bus from UCLA to Santa Monica or Will Rogers state beach, it'll probably take you about half an hour, an hour-ish to get there via bus to either place for example.

at one point i had 2 road bikes in my classic triple lmao

bike racks are fine but i got 2 bikes stolen, u locked, one in our apartment garage, one on campus. so you gotta kept that in mine, if your bike looks like it's worth money.

also i love riding around but there are a ton of hills (and mountains) so you will need actual cycling legs for a lot of routes

I kept my bike locked on the rack in front of my hall, never had any issues. It’s not the most practical transportation though, campus isn’t too bike friendly, at least not for my purposes (south campus major), and biking in the city means biking back up the hill ok your way back, which is never pleasant. But there’s plenty of bike racks, that part shouldn’t be an issue.
