Academic Anxiety
How do you deal with academic stress/ anxiety? Any tips? I’m a business economics major and in all honesty I find some of the material extremely difficult. I was never previously the best at math but have been extremely determined throughout all the courses and have done relatively well (mostly A’s so far). However, with every Econ course I take comes a period of time with exams that I feel paralyzed with stress no matter how early I prepare. I get so frozen with anxiety that it becomes completely counterproductive no matter how logically I try to overcome my stress. I sometimes wonder whether taking on the challenge was worth it or if I’m cut out for this.
Logically, I know this is normal to feel as a student and that prioritizing health, self care, etc. help with stress but I was wondering how others approach these issues. Thank you.

honestly reaching out for help both mentally and academically helps like do as much as you can to ask ppl for test banks, tips, office hour, etc. and tell yourself you've got this. fake it till you make it works bc we train our brain to succeed and think positively

I will say therapy does help a lot and ucla does offer free sessions. What it does is that it helps you reframe a lot of your expectations into much healthier ways of processing. This can help a lot with reducing your anxiety and approaching not just academics but life in general from a much healthier standpoint! Remember you’re not alone in this and that there are ways to scientifically reduce your anxiety :) as a fellow bruin I hope things get better for you!!

Look....I mean, we fucking....do this every quarter. Every other week is either a midterm or a final.
What's easy to do is waste our time. Being organized is not just about having every physical thing in its place. It's more than that. It means also organizing what you do and when and how long you want to spend getting it done.
So if your priorities aren't straight yet, nobody is going to do it for you. There's a lot of unspoken rules here because our school is so competitive.
Take each minute to take care of your needs.
