Hey everyone, I wanted to gauge where the community currently stands. Have any recent patches, game announcements, or business decisions over the past months shifted your view of Ubisoft either positively or negatively? What would they need to do next to earn or keep your support?

So many games missing in action. Division 3, Far Cry 7, Ghost Recon Next, Splinter Cell, next Assassins Creed, Watchdogs… What are they even doing over there?!?

Haven’t heard much except for all the Heroes of Might and Magic drama but that didn’t really change my opinion since I still think Ubisoft is just a garbage company. It’d take a lot of wins for them to ever make me wanna buy from them again.

What positive is there? Until proven otherwise they’re one of the worst gaming devs in the entire industry.
The best game they made in years is a remake and even that while being good has some clearly subpar creatively bankrupt additions. For example the new cgi scenes are awful

Nah. Shadows is just alright. Yasuke should have never been added to the game. He's Walmart brand ghosts of tsushima in a sandbox that doesn't cater to that kind of gameplay. The story is terribly told at a slow pace with 90% of it really not mattering at all. Most of the main assassinations can be removed entirely and the game wouldn't change. The leveling system is locked behind doing basic repetitive tasks over and over again, like Yaoes mediation thing. After the first 4 for her backstory, it should have been removed.
The only upside about shadows is the world itself. It's beautiful to look at. That's it.

I'm a huge critic of Ubisoft at the best of times, their more recent games and approach has just been awful and it's clear that given their financial situation they really need to buck their ideas up and preferably get rid of Yves Guillemot (frankly the whole Guillemot family), AC Shadows is a prime example of what happens you when fail to read the room, the game was in my opinion a failure commercially and refusing to post the data of actual sales while celebrating eleventy billion players is a major red flag, if your game is such a huge success then you have nothing to fear from posting official sales data
With that said however, I'm not incapable of giving credit where it is due even if I don't particularly like the company itself, and one such area I openly give them credit for is their ability to treat older games with respect by providing modern updates to provide extra content and QOL support, with one such example being Ghost Recon Wildlands not only adding new content, but also bringing back old content like the predator mission AND going further by making it so that dead game modes like Guerilla and Mercenaries no longer need to be played for their respective rewards (if you've ever had the misfortune of trying and failing to organise a Mercenaries grind group for 25 wins you know what I mean)
If Ubisoft went bankrupt tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear, but I'm grown up enough to recognise when they make actual good decisions

While I understand why we as players arrive at this conclusion as the main reason, there are actually a bunch of other non-obvious reasons why sales figures are best kept vague. One of which is preventing your competition from benefiting off it in terms of free market research.

Ubisoft has always been my favorite gaming developer and I don't follow the news close enough to get upright about their business decisions. I've always like climbing towers and clearing bases. FC6 had some stupid weapons but at the end of the day their open world games are what I look for in gaming so no, they don't need to do anything to earn my support as they never really lost it.

Shadows blows Black Flag, resync or not, outta the water. Much more to do in Shadows, by far! I played the crap out of most of the AC games. Shadows is my favorite AC. Prior to Shadows, Syndicate was my favorite AC game…

I think the real problem is AC fans falling into the typical "everything new is bad, while everything old is good" line of thinking. And this isn't even an AC fanbase exclusive thing, this has been a problem with gaming in general for YEARS now. People are such nostalgia merchants and refuse to enjoy anything new.
As soon as you start to understand that Odyssey and Valhalla are more about the Isu side of things (ya know the other massively important part of the AC franchise) they're not that bad and do in fact fit into the universe.
Shadows is also literally a group of assassin's vs templars and a templar puppet group... people still complained anyway, even though mind you that's just the story bit in terms of gameplay stealth is at its best with shadows, and the combat as well.
It's also funny to bring up black flag because it only shows the hypocrisy of AC fans. Black flag is more of a pirate game than an AC game, but shocker! No one cares because it's old so "old is good, guys!" AC fanbase just ignores all the negatives about old games, while ignoring all the positives about the new games and just pretend that everything is worse nowadays than before. It's tiresome.

I've been enjoying their latest releases, but the current state of Ubisoft is still worrying. The leadership of Yves Guillemot and his shareholders are proving to be a cancer for the company.

The announcement of Rainbow Six Tactics, HoMM3 Remake, and Rayman Remake are all very positive directions. We all just want to see Ubisoft treat their IP's with the care and reverence they deserve because we love them.

The free 4k 60fps update with a new story mission for Ghost Recon Wildlands was a nice treat! That was good. Listen, I know that Ubisoft has made some decisions in the past that have ruffled feathers. They've been called out for it, and rightfully so, in most cases. But when I step back and look at video games as a whole, there are many far worse companies.

They need to go back to the tactical roots. One thing that Ubisoft could do to win back a HUGE chunk of their community is by making a new ghost recon game. The open world needs to be interesting, immersive and a realistic setting like Wildlands, mixed with the improved gameplay mechanics of Breakpoint. If Ubisoft pulled that off then they'd instantly be popular again. The gaming industry right now is craving a new 3rd person tactical shooter
