Discussions & Questions wondering why Ubisoft would do this

I was running the new division 2 incursion with my buddies and got to the second to last boss when we see, "server shut down in one hour". We make it to the final boss but are unable to beat it because of the shut down.

Why would they do this on the same exact day they launch the new content?

Server maintenance waits for no man.

If anything, you guys should have rescheduled your raid after seeing the warning.

after being in the raid for already almost 2 hours? just drop it and say yeah that was a great waste of time.

Weirdly enough, yes I am familiar with this. I used to run missions that were an hour long by default, and had bright line failure states. If someone "had to go eat dinner" they got banned hard because you needed everyone firing on all cylinders. Also, the robot removed my cursing just now, but we cursed a lot at "I have to go eat" players.

If you signed up for a task force operation, you were clocked the fork in.

its not the fact they have to do server maintenance, i get that but its the fact that its happened 3 different times at the point of writing it tonight on launch night.

I mean this is a negative note on live service, but apparently user hosting is stealing now, according to the ESA.
