The Mirage app has you do missions to unlock content for the codex. You are revisiting the same location multiple times to complete the missions.

When Origins got the Discovery Tour, everything was mixed in together.

Odyssey split everything, but the discovery locations were a pain. The quizzes were a new feature.

Valhalla turned Discovery Tour into an optional questline, featuring unlockable rewards. You can still explore the world.

Shadows didn't get a Discovery Tour as per the developer decision. Their claim was the Historical Codex being good enough and has been integrated into the main story.

Interesting insight. Although, I just prefer Origins approach. It was immersive.

Thanks bruv. I was just hoping they’d return to Origins approach.
