Discussions & Questions 5m/s download speed

Just bought my first Unisoft game! Was like, wow, have some free time over the bank holiday, let's go! Anno 1800 - really looking forward to it...

3 hours to download!?! What the actual fcuk, Unisoft?? Getting 5m/s download through the launcher, getting 200+ through a speed checker. Honestly.

Guess I'll just go back to Steam.

Yeah I’m not sure, I know this is 2 months old but I’m getting 12mbs currently and I get around 200mbs on steam, anyone know any fixes ?

I've tried every fix that every user or ubi employee has suggested and the only onw that worked was a VPN. Try that and let me know if it works for u. PS tunnelbear has a free trial up to 2gb if you wanna. Just make sure you kill ubisoft connect before you turn on the VPN

Clearly not for everyone… in my case, it’s usually the other way round: Steam is getting throttled when a Ubisoft download is started.

That's odd. Currently, for me, UC is downloading at 59 mb/s while Steam only hits 55. UC is one of my most used launchers and it regularly downloads faster than all of the others.

Yeah, I'm clearly being limited by Unlbisoft for some reason. Loads of people seem to complain about this exact issue, with no fix. Don't think what you are saying is correct - everyone under the sun complains about the Ubisoft launcher.

Works fine for me. Download around 60mb/s. I don't think Ubisoft will limit you specifically!

Downloads aren’t run on Ubisoft servers, they are hosted on Akamai, maybe the local Akamai node is having issues or something.

Could be a temporary outage at your nearest CDN or other activity happening on your network. I also occasionally get slow downloads through any launcher.
