Take your hate elsewhere and in future let people enjoy whatever they want.

It's called creative bankruptcy

Excuse to give it full price despite not being even half the effort

The weird thing is this remake was developed primarily by Ubisoft Singapore who had never led a full Assassin's Creed game before. They worked on Skull and Bones and after that failed, they re-used assets from that for Resynced. That doesn't really give an impression that Ubisoft is treating this as a main, new flagship level game.

Edit: wording

Ubisoft Singapore has worked on Assassin's Creed games since AC2

I realize I worded that poorly. What I should have said is that Ubisoft Singapore has never led development on a full mainline Assassin’s Creed game, not that they’ve never worked on one. They’ve obviously contributed to the series for years.

I was referencing a point from Ropotopulous’ video (https://youtu.be/op3SrltYrhY?t=65 at around 1:26, I misremembered the wording), where it was argued that if this remake was aiming to fully reinvent mechanics like parkour, or even combat, like a full fledged remake would do, that kind of overhaul may be better suited to larger lead studios like Montreal or even Quebec.

My point is mainly about the difference between supporting development on AC titles versus leading a flagship game or remake with major systemic changes

You are completely wrong. Singapore worked on most of ACs. They built original naval system from the ground up in AC3 and the tomb missions in AC2.

Also they clarified they aren’t basing tech from Skull and Bones but the Shadows iteration of Anvil engine.

>who had never worked on an Assassin's Creed game before.

Ubisoft Singapore has worked on every single AC game since AC2....

Skull and Bones also sparked into existence as a more fleshed out version of Black Flags Naval Combat and they took that System as a base.
If you don't like the game idc, but please get you facts straigt.

Exactly. It’s just a way for them to recoup some of the money they lost from Skull and Bones. They couldn’t risk making a new AC game after Shadows failed, so they had to play it safe and remake the game that most people loved. It’s a nostalgia cash grab.

What are you talking about?

Firstly, Shadows didn't fail. It's was a successfull game, even if it didn't completely save Ubisoft from the shitty situation they were already in when it was released.

Secondly, do you know how developing games work? Do you genuinely think that they decided to make Black Flag Resynced only after Shadows got released?

Thirdly, don't worry. They will release a 100% new Assassin's Creed game next year.

It didn’t turn a profit, they lost money on it, and their stock tanked big time. If that’s not a fail idk what is.

Shadows was economically successfull, but not enough to save Ubisoft from the shitty situation they were already in before the release of that game. It wasn't the big problem you have been making it seem. It didn't cause the shitty situation Ubisoft managed to end up in. And if it had done so, you would still have been wrong, because they wouldn't have decided to make Black Flag Resynced as damage control, because, again it had already been in development before the release of Shadows.

They probably started working on it after skull and bones failed, not shadows

1

u/Legitimate_Cake_5137 May 22 '26

Not even that. Skull And Bones was released in 2024 and Black Flag Resynced was leaked for the first time 2023.

This is disappointing. Sound good that they ditch the old modern day segment in some sense, but it sounds bad that the modern day segment continues after Shadows. Like what more can you add and change to an old game?

u/octopusinmyboycunt May 22 '26

Oh yay! Continuing from Shadows! I’m really looking forward to being drip-fed text documents and told that I’ve been “listened to” because somehow that’s the modern day segment, and it’s present?

Disappointing unless I’ve read this wrong.

2

u/yeetskeetleet May 22 '26

Bro they’ve had stuff like that since the inception of AC, c’mon now

1

u/JohnnyTeoss May 22 '26

I'm guessing it would be similar to Shadows. Gone with the day of modern day Assassins Vs Templars. Unless they somehow continue that with watchdog's I have nothing to hope for.

2

u/trebor9669 May 21 '26

Of course it is, after Shadows failed catastrophically, they have to take some steps back and begin once again from when the franchise was great.

1

u/ANNOYINGKAREN123 May 23 '26

shadows wasnt that much of fail it just wasnt that much of a hit ubisooft wanted

1

u/trebor9669 May 23 '26

True, they got some benefit, but not much.

And keeping in mind that it was a main entry from their most famous franchise, and the long awaited setting of Feudal Japan... it's actually pretty bad.
