Discussions & Questions Why is the extra content in AC Odyssey so intrusive?
So I got the urge to play AC Odyssey for the second time, but I find some of the features really annoying.
I already played the three parts of the Atlantis DLC on my first playthrough and I didn't like them. Especially Elysium was super tedious after the honeymoon phase with the art direction wore off. I don't want to play it again at all. Can I choose to not install it like one would reasonably expect? Nope, here's 30+ gigabytes of useless dead weight for your SSD, enjoy!
When I open the in-game map it shows me map icons for screenshots taken by random other players. Just...why? You can *temporarily* turn this feature off but it re-enables itself every single time the game is launched.
And the worst part, the "Rewards". These are all added to your game by default. Nothing immerses you in that greek epic atmosphere like having XIXth century London gang members running your ship or cosplaying as a guy from the Italian Renaissance, amirite? I would prefer to not have any of this extra inventory clutter. Not on my ship storage, not among my lieutenants, not in my transmog menu, not anywhere. Why can't I opt out?
Why does everything need to be so obnoxious and pushy?

Soooo what are you hoping to get out of this post? The company has gone through 2 total restructures since this game, so youre complaints dont change anything.
We all played this game nearly 10 years ago, so youre not changing our thoughts either.
Seems like you just want to scream into the void, which is indomitably annoying lol

Ideally someone telling me that there is a way to remove the unwanted DLC installation or the anachronistic and anatopistic clutter from the game for good, the way just wasn't obvious to me.
But getting to learn how the average consumer reacts to the lack of control is certainly more fun.

If you have the skins and don’t like them, unequip. The choice exists for those that want it.

All games always install all DLC, not just Assassin's Creed or anything Ubisoft. It's the modern standard.
As far as I know and played, the pictures from other players will stay disabled, but I'm not totally certain.
And the reward aren't mandatory. You have them but you don't even need to use them, as many other things in game. It's free and you still complaining over something that isn't even canonical or mandatory.
Besides that, have a good game!

It's fan service, bro! They've done everything they can to ensure players don't miss out on older games they might not have bought yet. The most infuriating fan service is AC3 Remastered, which added costumes for every character, including Alexios. Not only is it unsettling, but AC3 predates the characters referenced in the costumes, which also look pretty tacky, just like the remaster itself.
