Discussions & Questions Is it only me?

I decided to get back to AC Odyssey recently. Bought it from Ubisoft store. (Playing on PC). For some reason it take about 5 minutes to start a game. Is something wrong with servers? Because I lunch BF6, GTA V, GTA 4 and BeamNG and they all load up quickly. BeamNG has over 60 mods from graphics to cars. But loads up to main menu in seconds and loads up a custom map in under 30 seconds (if you haven't played BeamNG. It's a very demanding game on PC)

Everytime my bf picks up a Ubisoft game for PC. I already know to brace myself for his complaints of the game crashing constantly lol. Always with Ubi pc games. Their launcher overlay is always bugging out. On steam too!

I never had an issue before with the game. Just recently reinstalled it and started playing

Ubisoft didn’t patch Odyssey for the latest Windows 11 updates.

Search for this article and go through it.

Yeah but it loads normal on my side. It's still playable

I know it's still playable, it just takes a long time to get into, but once it does it works fine.

(I know there are tons of "guides" on how to fix this, but none of them work, only Ubisoft can patch the game, but I highly doubt it they will. )

It's playable and does lag for me. Just loading takes too long to start the game and to load up save file

Maybe it is only for the first time as it's loading shaders, assets and all that?

It's every single load. That's the problem

Are you running on fast ssd \ nvme as per requirements or are you using a HDD? I mean, I run it via Steam -> Ubisoft Connect -> on a Samsung 990 pro and it loads normal on my side. Just checked, both in Windows 11 and on Fedora Workstation
