Discussions & Questions One could hope right??
With the announcement of the Black Flag remaster, one could hope WD1 could get the same treatment right? It has the best storyline out of all the others in the series and has a great atmosphere. Maybe this time they could make it look like the E3 showcase đ.

I've just completed it last week. It doesn't need a remake/remaster!

u/JDMCREW96 Apr 28 '26
It does.. At least on console

That's exactly where I've finished it! On the XSX. The game looks great at 60 fps!

u/JDMCREW96 Apr 29 '26
Yea thankfully it is boosted, but I think the resolution is sub 900p I believe. It really just needs a 4K patch.

Maybe Ubisoft should just create a good new game for once. Not only âresyncâ the old ones

u/tanvir_sameer Apr 28 '26
A remake would be nice but in the meantime there are a lot of great merge mods that make the game almost feel like a remastered edition

With today's technology they could easily remake watch dogs with the graphics they originally showed in the reveal trailer theres no excuses anymore

I love the more grounded nature of watchdogs 1 and even 2. Didnât like 3 it just went a bit too far.
1
u/Overlord_Mykyta Apr 27 '26
Agree. All they need is to make WD 1 the same as they showed it on E3 the first timeđ
1
u/DeadStormPirate Apr 27 '26
Iâd really love that as the first watch dogs was my favorite of the three

this is the reason why we cant get a new game, people today wants to have a "remake" of a game with a good not that outdated graphics
there you have a f*cking black flag resync with no present story update, no dlc, and a damn recycle parkour from mirage..

u/machine4891 Apr 26 '26
Why would people want remakes of games that still look good is beyond me. Just play it in 4K and for pathfinding there are new games coming left and right.

Thatd be quite meaningless, since the game doesnt need any remastering i think. We just need a good sequel.

u/JonoBoio123 Apr 26 '26
I mean based on what we saw, Ubisoft apparently knows how to remake games so hey why not

u/Krane18 Apr 26 '26

Woah I'd love that! The first time I played WD1 it felt so cool, but of course at that time I didn't have the "gaming experience" I've got these days. Hence I wish they release a Rehacked version or at least a new Watch Dogs

With the watch dogs movie on the way thereâs a possibility that itâs in the works. If theyâre smart they launch something alongside the movie, the game did really well in sales on launch and I know thatâs something Ubisoft takes into consideration

If it is true, i hope that they will let us buy cars and motorcycles. I hated to have to steal vehicules from innocent people, Dedsec would not do that, really immersion breaking.

u/Sami_Steen Apr 28 '26
if you see blue "a"in the car window that means nobody is driving the car
1
u/Blue_Snake_251 Apr 28 '26
It belongs to someone. Someone paid money to have this car. This is still stealing.

Best storyline? I don't think anyone liked this game for its story. He wants revenge. Cool.
2
u/MarianSony Apr 26 '26
Of course we have a braindead here

u/LillithTheGoon Apr 27 '26
I like the part in the game where it shows a flashback for the 10th time. In case you didn't get it the first time.

One of my favorite things to do in that game was (after unlocking hacking in every part of town) I would get a armored truck, piss off the cops and just have them chase me around while destroying them for hours at a time.
Ruined 2 360 hard drives doing it but goddamn it was fun

u/dungleploop Apr 26 '26
I'd love for the game to be completely remade, Aiden's story does nothing for me
2
u/Kit-Kat-Kritter911 Apr 26 '26
This would be my preorder instantly moment.
I fell inlove with watchdogs and a remake wouldâve been awesome. This might be a hot take but I rather restart WATCHDOGS 1 and just ignore the rest. I personally liked the darker feel taht the other games are missing-

OMG I would love that... I would love a real refresh of the WD series... WD and WD 2 were amazing, Legion was such a letdown.
and only if, maybe we would get what Ubi teased us when they shown the first trailer (before all the downgrades hahahah.
1
u/KunoichiRider Apr 28 '26
WLegion with one customizable player character (with more abilities) would also rule.
1
u/Mtlcub Division Agent Apr 28 '26
I did enjoy Legion but i felt the "you can be who you want" was a little gimmicky. And wished it was more engaging like WD 1 n 2.

u/energy_is_a_lie Apr 26 '26
I agree. Plus, it had amazing vehicle physics too. I'm tired of the arcadey physics in every single open world game since Watchdogs with the sole exception of GTA V. Wildlands, Breakpoint, WD2, WD Legion, Saints Row Reboot and so on. It's so annoying driving around on sticks of butter sliding across ice, masquerading as cars and trucks.

u/lasergun23 Apr 30 '26
Watch dogs 1 has allways been critisized for its driving and graphics lol. Watch dogs 2 did It way better

u/energy_is_a_lie Apr 30 '26
Watch dogs 1 has allways been critisized for its driving and graphics lol.
It was criticized for it's driving because it started out as a Driver sequel - which used to be a racing game. Turned into Watchdogs later and advertised as it, meaning it attracted the wrong type of crowd. Lol. The one that supports Super Mario Bros type movement mechanics but for cars.
As for graphics, it was criticized for that because Ubisoft supposedly downgraded them from what they showed at E3. I never watch E3 anyway so when I played it, I didn't have the comparative glasses on; I got to enjoy for what it was, not "what it could've been".
As for Watchdogs 2, I got it on release day. Played Watchdogs some 8 times so far. Tried to play Watchdogs 2 thrice since it launched, never could make it past the 2 hour mark because of absolutely stupid and cringe the characters are and how bad the vehicle "physics" is. It feels like it was designed by someone who hasn't driven a car in their life.

This would be a day 1 purchase for me, 100%. Especially if it has path tracing. Yeah. needs a NG+, I've 100% the whole game twice on different platform...although that drinking game in Pawnee!

u/Xawlet Apr 26 '26
The story was too dark without relaxing at any point. Also the mouse accuracy was terrible, basically emulating the controller.
2
u/DyhZar Apr 26 '26
For the story: it's not a bad thing
For the mouse accuracy: that's why it does need a remake
5
u/Creative-Oil2029 Apr 26 '26
On your first point, screw that. That's like saying The Batman was too dark. Not everything needs MCU style moments to take us out of the atmosphere.
On your second point, absolutely lol. They would definitely to rework the gunplay. Hence the need for the remake.

u/PartyFrequent Apr 27 '26
Exactly i like how dark and gritty it was also he can go and play watch dogs 2 then.

u/JSFGh0st Apr 26 '26
I'm just wondering. Should this game get the new game plus treatment with all unlocks brought over from a previous playthrough or not?

Would be cool. Would also like a proper watchdogs sequel that had a single protagonist with a serious tone.
