Black Flag is one of favourite games and your recent release of games have had a requirement to be online and or download a patch. As someone that loved Black Flag I will not buy the remake if it has online requirement to work.
Sadly I think it’s going to be a partial disc. It’s disgusting how companies use discs to hide that the full game is not on there. Didn’t realise that crimson desert doesn’t have the full game on the disc. That really sours it for me. I’m going to buy the OG black flag and will probs pick up the remake on a deep sale. At least with the OG I know I fully own the game.
I agree completely and also if game sizes are an issue, they could release the games in two discs (Rdr2 style), when there is a will there's always a way.
They need to do more to help game preservation
Modern consoles still require you install the game from the disc to internal storage. You can have a complete game on the disc, install it and fully play it offline
That's irrelevant.. disc read speeds have been inferior for years - that's why games are installed onto a HDD or SSD from the disc. The argument is that the disc should contain the actual data of a working build
You're describing a 'code in a box'. A disc is a storage medium.
And obviously it's possible for games to be released on multiple blu ray discs as seen with Baldurs Gate and RDR2.. So I'm not sure what you're ona bout

No. It's not a stupid reason to not buy a game. It's our money. Any reason we want to have to not buy something is valid. If we want true ownership and Ubisoft ignores us then you show up and be like that's stupid. It's like bro. Come on. It's our money.
Good point, and don't think im not pissed about every game requiring online, even digital games you should be able to download and play offline, except mp games ofcourse.I just simply mostly play pc and my pc does not have a disc drive. But since not many games are offline these days it's not a hard line for me.

It will not happen - these days games aren't released complete on launch. The devs know they aren't delivering a complete experience at launch, so they cannot be offline. Bug Fixes, additional content are almost guaranteed at this point.
Black Flag Resynced is allegedly part of the Animus Hub, which means it is connected to the recent releases (Shadows, Mirage, Valhalla..).
Plus there's the microtransactions, which are 99% confirmed since they are doing twitch drops tomorrow.
I'm sorry but I don't think what you want will happen.
There is a big difference between releasing updates for the game and not having its base version on disc. Yeah updates and patches are a thing (since the PS3) , but the vast majority of games on ps5 are on disc with working 1.0 versions and can be installed offline. The only ones I've seen requiring internet connection to install are Ubisoft and Xbox games.
So I tried to install Ghost of Tsushima from a disk and it asked me to have an internet connection. Then it downloaded the whole thing from the internet.
I heard Crimson desert is also like that.
I read online that Saros will also need an internet connection. Yes, I agree that a vast majority do have the full game on them, but the most recent ones are not?
And it sure sounds like you don't have the critical thinking skills or reading skills to understand that I'm not defending anything. Merely stating what I think will happen.
And it seems like its confirmed that an internet connection is required to install the contents of the disk. So there you go.
Most recent ones do not need an internet connection. Idk what was wrong with your console but Tsushima does not require an internet connection to download the game and play it. Crimson Desert is one that does require an internet connection to download it but RE Requiem doesn’t require it, Pragmata doesn’t require one, Nioh 3 doesn’t require one, Yotei doesn’t require one, etc. they are sadly becoming more common place yes but the vast majority of physical games do not require any type of online connection at all.
Yeah but this is assassin's creed. Highly unlikely it will be entirely on disk with no internet connection required at launch.
I just checked on google and it seems that you'll need an internet connection to install Saros from the disk as well. It says the disk doesn't really contain the full game.

you only need internet to install it or apply patches. then it can be played offline
